Chaps,
Stick by my pre-season prediction, will take us 2 to 3 years to get out of this league. Hope am wrong, but so far, not good enough against the teams that matter. Clearly the manager can turn things around, there is plenty of time but I don't believe he has the right raw materials to do this. Evans, Cresswell, Williamson, Doyle, Collins, Monty, Simmo, etc etc need shipping out to fund the recruitment of his own players. There is a major transformation job to be done at the Lane; it will take time and it assumes we can sell our lot of very average players. Obviously he has to recruit better than Porter (very poor), but until he get's his own players, like Powell at Charlton, can't see us challenging. In doing this, hopefully he will recognise the importance of pace and width. On Saturday, we lacked both. We were very one dimensional.
This team is very much work-in-progress, there are weak points throughout.
