Player of the season so far: Hamer.
Probably be players that have had a bigger impact on the team than Hamer so far, but to be playing as well as he has been, out of position and to be our top scorer (might only be 3 goals) so far cannot be understated.

Signing of the summer: Cooper.
Come in for cheap and completely changed our defence for the better, Souttar is a close second with this.

Hamer has 3 goals and 1 assist in 5 games. Benjamin Bloom calls him the Championship Cheat Code.

It's still too early for judgement yet as it's only been 5 games.

When we got promoted from League One we had so many contenders for player of the season. Freeman, Basham, O'Connell, Wright, Coutts, Fleck, Duffy, Sharp.

When we got promoted to the Premier League under Wilder we had so many contenders for players of the season. Henderson, Stevens, O'Connell, Egan, Norwood, Duffy, McGoldrick.

It's very early yet but that same feeling is slowly building. Cooper, Burrows, Anel, Souttar, Souza, Arblaster, Hamer. All consistently good so far.

I like the fact that this side seem to be performing well as a team.

Last time we got promoted, we played OK and then relied on bits of magic from single players. This side feels like it works better as a collective. Very early days and need to see how the journey goes, but the most important thing really is we can all get excited about this squad and believe in it.

Early days yet obviously but they have all made positive impacts. They have added more than basically any of the PL signings we made last season did all season (hamer excluded).

Cooper - has looked solid with good distribution
Souttar - been immense and the defence looks much more solid with him in it.
Burrows/gilchrist - both growing in the position
McCullum / Shackleton - seem good depth pieces who can do a. Job if called on.
JRS / Moore - reckon there’s more to come from them but the flashes are there so far. I think Moore will get more stick then deserved but his hold up play has been really good for me
O’hare - as advertised and brings the creativity we have needed since Duffy in MF.

When you add to that the ‘top’ players we have performing like we want them to do in Hamer, Anel and Souza. And the youth making an impact like Peck, Blaster and Brooks. It’s the recipe for a decent season if we can hold it together .

My POTS might be Brooks. Looks really exciting and confident in the new position . Couple of assists so far too. The type of player that can get people off their seats. Might be hard to maintain this form but if he does he’ll be some asset.

Best player this season Hamer - goals and assists and seems to be working really hard.

Best signing so far Moore - last night showed a total #9 performance. Runs the line, amazing out of possession, links play, wins headers, gets us up the pitch and the goals will come.

I wouldn't say a total 9 performance.
Was anyone really that confident he would score when he was put through ?
Same with the penalty against Watford.
Nearly all our goals are coming from Midfield which is great but if we are serious about automatic we really need a striker that's going to get you around 15 goals this season, unfortunately at the moment Moore dosent look like that striker.

Last time we got promoted we had no style of play and ground out results and we poor for more spells of the game than good.

This season we have a very clear style of play and things haven't quite clicked yet, as there's still some sloppy play and bad decisions on the ball, but when it does click there are exciting times ahead. The only thing that will derail us is injuries and suspensions as we don't have strength in depth.

It really was a total 9 performance.

He will get 15 goals this season for sure.

This is rare and who knows, it might be a one off so don’t get used to it. But I agree with you on what Moore brings to the team.

Incredibly early days as others have said but for me the best signing is either O’Hare or Souttar. The latter has slotted into the backline and improved it considerably. The former has brought a spark to the team that would be missing otherwise.

It’s a good thing that this is bringing so many different answers.

We’ve made some great additions but also some of last seasons squad have upped there game ( Souza , AA and Hamer ) … if I’m going to single one out I’m gonna Cooper .. the calmness & confidence he has brought to our back line is there for all to see . He looks a class act 👍👍

Well i can not agree but we all have opinions . I thought he was very poor actually . Had a great chance when he just had the goalie to beat and fluffed it just like he did in the previous match .Seems to panic when in a good position but thats my view and as i say it down to opinions.

I think our new slab head has been a revelation too.
He's obviously a tank and unstoppable in the air, but he is calm, commanding and leads by example. He has more class on the ball than I expected too.

That said, I'm a huge O'Hare fan as well.

He seems low on confidence In front of goal, hopefully one goes in off his bellend and he’s up and running

What has impressed me is how he gets flick ons, controls the ball and brings others into play - and does it without giving away free kicks which was infuriating with McB

Maybe that’s a reflection on the refs rather than Oli, but it’s good to see our no9 go up not knowing it’s a given the oppo will get a fee kick

Souttar to me is a great signing ,the defence looks rock solid and i think it's down to him . Might not be the quickest but reads the game so well and wins most things in the air . A lso god in the oppositions area at corners . Would be great if it was possible to sign him permanently . Also Cooper looks a steal . Well done Crissy really impressed with the talent you have brought in under extreme circumstances and with little cash . Also telling Leeds to do one when trying to tap up our talent was ace .

ALL the signings are contributing, Moore looked more settled last night and O´Hare and Hamer frighten defences , but the subs came on and enhanced the side,, last season we had no bench to add or alter things, even Brewster looked more comfortable, the club spirit is returning and building up a head of steam

4 free signings are better than any one we brought in last season Hamer aside

this is when Wilder earns his corn, finding free gems

Really a lot to pick from which is great, but for me it has to be Harrison Burrows.
Settled very well, not afraid to have a shot or take defenders on... he's gonna be some player !

I love gilchrist, just a proper blades player. Think rak-sakyi will prove to be a player as well, can just tell he’s got something.

I think the important thing for burrows is that he does the defending that he’ll need to do.

The attacking quality was clear from his time in League 1. His defensive stats were the question mark, especially a league up.

He’s Had one dodgy match defensively but thought he looked decent last night and did the basics we needed from him. If he can combine the attacking output and become consistently solid defensively, he’ll be some player for us. Get the baldock/ prime enda tape on to help him with that side of the game and the sky is the limit.

Watford scored 8 in 3 games before playing us.
That’s true but they weren’t very good. Could well have been our defence that caused that. I’m not being negative at all. I’m thinking more on the lines of Leeds and Sunderland. We’ll see.

If Hull has more about them he would have been tested, the amount of times we gave the ball away in midfield. Again credit to our defence.
