Season long loan

No, we are not in a mess.
We are a club that does not have unlimited funds and may struggle to stay in the PL, but there is no recent evidence that we are not being properly managed.
I would rather we bring in one or two like Anel and a couple of good PL loans than spend £100m on players not up to the job.
If only you'd been around 3 years ago and whispered that in Wilder's ear.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has had his noncey charges dropped n all! GERRIMIN

Only two on loan players can be registered at a time in the Premier League. Only £20mil to spend this summer. Having to scour free transfers for experienced players on cheap wages. What a mess we're in. We need a takeover and fast.
We’ve always got the element of surprise…again.

Imagine we stayed up. I presume after the new season we would be clean of debt and have more money to spend on players.

Doubtful.
Would be shocked if our net spend is anywhere near that.
So far we're looking at Slimani for about €1.2m rising to €1.7m based on what you read. Probably not more than €4m si
rising to €5m for Traore.

If you are to follow Darren's comment to the letter, then two more would be foreign loan to buy, so the large part of that won't transpire until end of the season, possibly from next year's budget if we stay up.

You then look at two domestic loans. You'd imagine one from City plus I really don't know.

So you are only at 6.7m for two perm deals .

Basically our transfer outlay will probably be exceeded by the amount that Forest spend per annum on shower gel and deodorants for their squads changing rooms.

And I'd be shocked if there are no sales given the contractual situation of many of our players.

Who made it a 20m budget for player recruitment? Does that include wages and agents fees?

Quite a few supporters expect up to 8 arrivals at the lane! It makes zero sense to advertise our lack of recruitment funding to other clubs.

I believe that the budget will be restricted, and PH and his team will have to justify every penny spent on recruitment.

I expect 2 or 3 permanent signings, if PH can justify them. Add in loans from home and maybe overseas, but the wages are more likely to be on the prudent side.

We will be offering ambitious young footballers a crack at the EPL, not 30 year olds looking for a last payday.

Darren now suggesting we will probably spend nowhere near the £20m figure and advising that's a "result."
Prince's PR man.

I get what he’s saying, but would dispute that spending less on fees will result in spending more on wages.

The fact of the matter is we are skint and the club will spend the least amount possible whether that be wages and/or fees

Not spending near 20 million is concerning. I’ve no problem with signing players for lower fees looking for bargains and big resale profits my issue is if that’s what we’re going to do then we’ll need to sign more players than we would than if we were signing more proven commodities. By signing a greater number of players you increase your chances of having some of those players hit but if we’re paying very low fees and not signing many players then you’re banking on being smarter than all other teams and identifying players that no one else has found which given the extensive scouting efforts of teams today seems a ridiculous notion.

Are you suggesting that Darren didn’t invent the 20m quote?

Both your links are dated 10 July. I’m sure the 20m quoted was much older than that? :)
