Hamer…

Overweight, head turned and disinterested, loose passes so a total luxury/liability in midfield, can only play tippy-tappy with his mate (with all too infrequent worldies), super ill-disciplined. Needs a club fine for getting banned for 2 games instead of shutting his mouth for final 10 seconds. Not good enough for prem, too powderpuff for the champ. Like playing with 12 one game in five and playing with 10 the other four.

I’d look to get rid of Hamer, Campbell, Cannon and Wilder.

Hamer doesn’t justify his presence on the pitch these days, the occasional worldie/pass just doesn’t cut the 80 odd minutes of huff and puff play, and guaranteed yellow card every couple of matches (usually out of petulance or stupidity)

Campbells now showing why Stoke fans wasn’t that arsed about him going - if lethargic was a person, it’d be Campbell. Awful fitness, zero effort.

Cannon - been done to death, not going to waste time explaining why.

Wilder - fantastic when you need a backs to the wall performance, but has and is continuing to show he has zero tactical nous on how to break down a team that sits back in a low block. WBA are the epitome of relegation fodder, yet we couldn’t dispatch a poor team with nothing about them. Bizarre line ups (benching Seriki, what the fuck?) bizarre substitutions (usually 10/15 mins late) and zero accountability. Love him for Mk1 Chris, but the club simply has to move on.

Compared to buying a championship level center forward with a high transfer fee, yeah

Campbell was not lazy yesterday, by any stretch of the imagination. When you hate a player it’s almost impossible to see anything positive. His effort couldn’t be questioned, I don’t think, maybe the output could.

I dont think Chris Wilder will be sacked; the owner told us so a couple of weeks ago.
However, the game against West Brom yesterday was. very poor. Slow build-up passing was awful.
Not like a proper Wilder team, we call it getting stuck in, beating the opposition first to the ball, win your tackles, etc.
We need to attack with pace, but pressure on the opposing players. If we continue to play like that, yesterday. We won't win many games of football.
We are safe, but nowhere near the playoffs. What we need is our owners to splash the cash like Wrexham has. Let Chris Wilder bring in the players He wants and play attacking and attractive football from the start of next season. As a punter, Chris likes to call us Branall Lane, which will be full and rocking and will make us intimidating for the opposition and fans. Whether the Owners back us remains to be seen. If you want success, you have to be willing to spend millions of pounds.

Can't trust him with money.

If I was an owner I’d be very reticent about giving Wilder much to spend on transfers.
Think Cannon, Archer, Brewster.
If I was the owner the first team coach wouldn't be within a million miles of being involved in transfer decisions, regardless of who he is

It'll be nice if Millwall go up and want Tanganga back for what we paid them. Then if Forest stay up offer 2.5m for Bindon. Made a tidy profit and you'd presume Bindon's on much smaller wages.

A lot of red tinted glasses worn on this forum, blinkered.

My opinion on Wilder has long been that he shouldn’t have come back for his second spell here. 3rd spell, even more no.

Wilder with money is a shambles. The guy isn’t a tactician either. We didn’t outplay Coventry last night, they let us have possession - Lampard outthought Wilder, you could see clearly that Coventry set up to nullify us and it worked a treat, we couldn’t break em down. They had more shots on target than us with a 1/3 leas possession. Let that sink in to all you pricks having a pop at me for even daring to suggest Wilder should be relieved of his duty.

This club will go nowhere with Wilder at the helm. He’s a man manager, a blokey mate and someone who can put an arm round a player but we’re being left behind tactically with him in charge whilst a new breed of managers and squad comes through.

WILDER OUT.

or when we draw , some proper tools on here, I remember a time when all Blades stuck together as one , whatever the result because we are Sheffield United not Real Madrid.. Utb
By sticking together do you mean we should all agree on any topic and not have different views?

With Chris maybe the ceiling isn’t as high as some desire, but then again he got 9th with a 20th budget but clearly that isn’t sustainable especially if you won’t pay the wages.

But a consideration surely must be that it’s a high floor.

I never had a second thought about relegation once Chris returned. If Sellés had all season we’d be planning Sheffield derbies next season.

You can hang Cannon and Brewster on Wilder but not Archer - that was a Heckingbottom signing.
Brewster, for me, is forgiveable. I think it was £18/19m in total we paid.

He came with an impressive pedigree from Liverpool and was exactly the right age profile. Unfortunately injuries did for him. It was an ambitious signing and the fans were delighted at the time.

Cannon is a different matter though.

In isolation it's forgivable. In the context of where the club was and what the priorities were (1: CB (after O'Connell's injury), 2: CM (as anyone with eyes could see Norwood was cooked)) it was borderline negligent.

Yeah I agree. In hindsight you can say Brewster was always too slight for the premier league, but it looked like a great show of ambition at the time.

Cannon was always an insane purchase.

If Bindon was available for £2.5m I suspect he would have been a permanent transfer.

He's only just turned 21, is a full international, was nominated for league one player of the season last season and has looked at the very least, a competent championship defender.

£2.5m is nothing to a premier league club. I expect it would take quadruple that.

Too powderpuff? Who has the most assists for you playing in a position not best for him?

What the fuck's it got to do with you? Fuck me, Coventry are having a decent season in a shit league and all of a sudden you're all experts in everything Championship related. Do you just come on here gracing us with your presence and treating us to your unbridled knowledge, or are you all over everyone elses message boards telling them where they're going wrong as well?

It's clearly time for some of us to grace their forum with helpful advice on how NOT to get relegated from the top division.

"Now the Premier League or 'Prem' as we experienced teams refer to it is a funny old kettle of newts.

The first thing you need to understand is VAR and VAR stands for Very Annoying Replays...."

I’m with you on the targets.

We went for Ramsdale and splashed 12.6m rising to 18m or whatever it was and 18m on Brewster.

We should have got a loan keeper in and focussed on covering for O’Connell. We were like a sparrow worh a broken wing without him.

Likewise, as you say, Norwood was getting less mobile, Berge was settling in and Lundstram had no intention to stay. We should have pushed the latter out and cut our losses and got a proper replacement in.

We could have got by worh McGoldrick plus one more.

A lot calling for Hamer, Campbell and Cannon to go, to be fair not got a problem with that but Hamer and Cannon seem to be on the left behind Bamford, if we get rid of those 2 need 2 replacements with a One returning from loan to replace Campbell maybe another striker in either on loan or perm to top up the options

If you think our owners are going to be splashing sny sort of cash like wrexham then I have news for you (not good either).

1) We dont have money/revenue to spend like Wrexham.

2) Parachute money has now ran out and we will be cutting cloth accordingly, not spending.

3) Bettis already come out other week in the Q&As and said its going to be our 1st season back as a proper championship club regarding budgets and money ins & outs..... make that as you will - I say hes getting it in early and letting us know we will be back to not spending.

4) FFP (or what ever its changed to for next seasons) means our owners cant simply throw cash around even if they had it, again refer to 1) we dont have the revenue streams set up to get around it.

5) we voted for 2 extra places in play offs, bettis mentioned again that we was going to vote in favour as its a better opportunity for us to get promoted due to drop in money and budgets (again softening the blow and letting us all know we not spending much).

Our summer recruitment will be a lot like other season where it was freebies and loans. Cant see us spending much if snyrhing on transfer fees and of we do spend anything it will be from player sales.

Expect more out than in.
