I hate listening to score updates for our rivals when we are not playing. I can't see Scunthorpe slipping up against Port Vale. Charlton are unbeaten in five so will hopefully be tougher opposition for Bolton. I guess we need to look out for the Fleetwood score now as well.
Personally I will be walking in the Peak District to get away from it!

I couldn't see us slipping up at Walsall or at home to Fleetwood ;)

You'll get wet

Scunny win, Bolton draw.

Charlton will take points off plenty of teams now, including us.

Fleetwood have to be watched now, win today and they're only 5 points behind! They've just signed Cameron Brannagan on loan from Liverpool too, which is a quality signing for them. Think we wanted him in the summer.

For what it's worth I think Scunny will get a win to go above us.

I'm not concerned really as everyone will have a dip in form between now and the end of the season.

Come the end of the season I don't think we'll need to worry about other teams doing us any favours.

Our own fault, we should have been away and gone but we aren't

Won't be top this evening and we will be right back in the mix unless Bolton and Fleetwood slip up.

Still Get very annoyed thinking about that awful team selection last Tuesday.

I am the opposite mate. Infinitely more relaxed when we are not playing. Whatever happens today we will still be in the top 2 and even if the results go against us there are injuries and suspensions of key players that often happen in a cold rainy day in winter. All the while our lot have some valuable down time with new signings to bed in.

Al that being said, come on Vale, Charlton and Southend!

We really can't have any complaints if Bolton & Scunny take their chances to go above us again, we had ours to put some daylight in between them and blew it.

I imagine though that they'll be plenty of twists and turns to come this season - our promotions in the past have had similar blips.

They both win. They won't bottle it and turn into total dickheads when the pressures on.

Chris Wilder put a great deal of emphasis on January. He was looking for a good month that could have provided the opportunity to create some daylight between ourselves and Bolton and/or Scunny.

This hasn't materialized but we've still three games coming up to put things right. Could do with Boton and/or Scunny now having a wobble. Starting today.

Bolton and Scunthorpe have the distinct advantage of not having a Chris Basham or Jack O'Connell to destroy their prospects.

Come on TD, I know you don't rate them (and I don't necessarily agree with you) but every team at this level has average/weaker players..........it's why we are all in this fucking league! I bet that Bolton and Scunny have their fair share of scapegoats as well.

Conceding top spot might actually fire us up and chin off any complacency. Which is what's needed given Febs fixtures. Can't Fuck those up

I always look at how many you can afford to lose in a season, looking at previous recent years the average number of games the side that wins the league loses is six , which is the amount we have lost already. So to win the league we may need to go the rest of the season un beaten or only lose another one.

The side the finishes second usually loses between 9 and 11 games throughout the season, this probably indicates a more realistic target, we can probably afford to lose another three and still have a chance of second place.

It's not however an exact science as the number of draws and who it is you lose to will also effect it, but it gives a rough guide as to where we are and what we have to do.

Bolton didn't lose at home to Swindon?

S2 cap-doffing coupled with a disregard for the truth is alive and well....

We played that day as well. Our terrible results of late aren't made better by Bolton losing to Swindon games ago.
