Scunny and Bolton games

It's out of our own hands now to win the league so that's probably a good thing....

Automatic promotion still in our hands though ;)

Good results for the Blades today as we take stock and tweak things..bit surprised by the Posh scoreline

I mean if scunny won all their remaining games there's nothing we could do about catching them.

They won't though. In a week or two there might be "nothing they can do" to catch us. Such talk is pointless, either way, with so many games yet to play.

We've had worse days. February we see two tough home fixtures against Scunny and Bolton.

In March we've Milwall at home who I understand are turning that fixture into their chosen notorious away game.

In April we've Coventry at home. I can see their fans choosing to disrupt this game following our game at their place in December.

Obviously the February games are difficult but I hope the behaviour of away supporters at those matches in March and April don't affect our performance on the pitch.

Coventry fans won't dare to attempt that at Bramall Lane.
In any case they'll be relegated by then and yet more of their shit supporters will have deserted them. They'll probably arrive in a taxi.

The challenge has been laid down (by Mrs Scunny midfielder Bishop). Time for us to seriously step up now.
They've been truly impressive this season, but let's see how they get on at Southend next Saturday - more wobbles at the top?

You said they won't bottle it. They have lost to ten men today after being one up. You might want to reconsider or perhaps too busy running your own team down and tugging your forelock to others?

It's the Bladesfans' Way...

Did Scunny bottle it when losing twice? We blew a great chance to break away and it's pissing me off. I don't need to reconsider anything. Mainly due to them being facts.

No. Sorry, not true. You said Bolton wouldn't bottle it and indeed would win today. It's there for all to see. No worming your way out of it.

In fact, they've lost two home games in a row. Today they were one-nil up then lost to ten men. Looks like serious lily-livered, white flag raising bottling to me.

I appreciate you would have preferred them to win so you could have a tantrum, denigrate your own team, followed by a wallow in self-pity and a bit of cap doffing. It's the Baladrsfans' Way. Maybe next week with a bit of luck, eh?

In the meantime keep working on that square; I'm sure you'll turn it into a circle if you try hard enough...

Fans often look at games in hand especially if the oppo's have a few like Bolton, and mentally convert them into wins and 3 points, but it's more likely they'll drop a point or 3. Winning every game is just their best case scenario, we should know that it doesn't always pan out that way better than anybody.

Send it to Tufty, mate. One for the dressing room wall, that, if ever there was one....

An excellent point Gray, but very naive. You have failed to factor in the S2 cap-doffing factor. Other teams win their games in hands. They always turn up on the big occasions. They never falter. They're all fantastic.

Why would I be not pleased Bolton lost? Of course I'm glad they lost. I wish I'd been wrong and they both had lost. Scunny however didn't and reacted well to being behind twice which has annoyed me as we have given up top spot with recent poor performances. As a side note, I would appreciate you packing in the condescending tone of your replies and just discussing matters reasonably.

Our February fixtures are horrendous, but come through it ok and beat Bolton at BDTBL then that's a heavy nail their coffin for me

Great set of results apart from scunny coming back , 7 points gap to 3rd ,
Don't care about loosing first place , as long as we finish 2nd, scunny can finish 10 points clear for all I care !
I agree about the results and normally I'd agree with your comment about Scunny winning the league, but for some reason finishing second will leave me feeling a tad disappointed mate.

I know it's just a Cup and I know the financial reward between top and second is minimal at this level, but after all the shite that we've had to put up with in recent years I somehow think the club owes us one. Going up is obviously my first priority, but I'd love us just this once not be the bridesmaid. Is it too much to ask?

You'd be wasting your time with that request. Doesn't fit in with his highly contrived schtick.

I think Bolton's next game is at MK plastics, if they lose that it could be an even bigger gap between us and them, but maybe fleetwood moving 3rd.

Stop going into denial then...

Easy mistake for me to make Pinchy. I've just reset the data, included the S factor variables and re-run the program.

I'm sorry to reveal that the computer now says that we'll finish 7th, Ched Evan's 95th minute Penalty winner for Chezzy at the Lane meaning we'll miss out on the play-offs on goals against. Who wanted the feckin play-offs anyway. :(

1 Scunthorpe 28 28 58
2 Sheff Utd 29 19 57
3 Bolton 27 15 50
4 Fleetwood 29 13 50
5 Bradford 29 12 49
6 Rochdale 27 5 45
7 Southend 28 5 43
8 Bristol Rovers 29 -2 42
9 Peterborough 28 3 41
10 Millwall 27 2 40

could have been worse
some strange results
fleetwood scraped a late equaliser
posh got hammered
bolton , well they just stopped
7 points aint a bad gap to have and when we were bottom seeing us 14 points clear of 7th was unthinkable

Whatever happens week to week, ups and downs, average 2 points a game and it will get us there.

going to be some collapse from being 14 points clear of 7th
are we suffering 8 cruciate ligament injuries

I'm not sure what I'm denying? I didn't think either would lose and one did. How can I deny it?

You said rather bombastically "They both win. They won't bottle it and turn into total dickheads when the pressures on." Doffing your cap to the opposition, whilst implying that our own club are total dickheads.

In point of fact Bolton appear to be the bottlers, don't they? Losing their second home game in succession and doing it by losing to ten men having been in front?

Your failure to recognise that you were talking bollocks is conspicuous. It's called "being in denial". Think on.

Our heavy handed policing and stewarding won't see them last as long on the pitch. Mind you it's a big jump down off the top tier.

Now, what was that you were saying about being 'deeply unpleasant'?

A coward and a raging hypocrite it would seem.

If the Coventry fans decide to jump off the top-tier then that's a form of protest that I support 100%.
