Not sour grapes I promise you. Honestly, what value is there in a cup where a quarter final tie attracts a crowd of barely 2000? I would scrap it, keep the league cup but only for championship, league 1 and 2. II'm sure some premiership teams, particularly those in Europe, could do without it.
Maybe their could be a tournament just for premiership sides that don't get into Europe, the Not Good Enough for Europe cup perhaps.

To an extent, yes. But there's a reason ALL the best professionals rotate squads, and don't want to be in all the cups. And you can be sure they aren't rotating the squad for the sake of gelling.

Forza is right, the real embarrassment is being stuck in this league for four years. I guess winning the paint pot would just be another reminder to the whole country of just how low we are.

We didn't fill our end of Wembley for the Huddersfield playoff final, I'm not sure we'd sell even half our tickets for the paint pot final and I'd find that embarrassing watching the highlights. If we were a team, like many at this level, that haven't been to Wembley in donkey's years then it might be different, but we're regulars at Wembley these days.

The bigger picture is that a great many clubs will never win either of the other two cups, ever, so I think it's a worthwhile cup that plays an important role in many club's lives. A lot of Blades don't like it, which I'm guessing is because simply by being in it, we are reminded of how low we have sunk. It's all relative. I suppose it's like top Prem teams being disappointed at only being in the UEFA cup. However, surely the biggest embarassment is the number of seasons we've been in this division and we still haven't won it.

I've always liked the idea of binning it and also restricting the league cup to divisions 2-4 - gets rid of one cup that nobody cares about for everyone, apart from championship but as someone from there prob wins it that seems fine
