Scougall

He's too small & weak for this division. He was never the same player after he was thrown to the floor at Bradford, and then came the concussion vs Hull at the pre-season friendly.
 
I think we can all see we have better options than Scougall for the role he would play. He won’t be here next season. He can do a job in certain systems and will be a useful player for someone if he finds a club that’s a good fit. He’s energetic, reasonably quick and can run with the ball. Lacks composure at times and his lack of size and strength are obvious issues. I think he’s a better player in an underdog, counter-attacking side (he was excellent in our cup runs as he provides an outlet when a team is under the cosh). But the way we play now, dominating the ball and trying to break stubborn teams down, I think we need that bit more guile and intelligence at times.


Could see him winding up at a team like Swindon/Vale/Oldham/Shrewsbury etc.

Why did no other player feel the need to slag him off in the press? Maybe because they're professionals?

Scougall can't get in the team now, maybe Adkins was actually right to not pick him? Or is Wilder getting this one wrong as well?

Didn't Sharp have a dig at Adkins in the press? It wasn't an outright slagging but i'm sure he had a subtle dig at him

If I never heard anything about Adkins or Scougall again in my life, I really wouldn't even notice, never mind care.
 
WHEN we get promoted he'll be going elsewhere. I just don't think he's good enough but he's contributed a little this season.

Freeman also criticised Adkins in the press so it might be that Adkins Mr Nice guy image isn't quiet as accurate as we thought before he arrived?
 
player stats for goals this season tell a different story especially if you consider his time on the pitch but why should we let facts get in the way
 
Always put a shift in, which is what I want to see above anything, however he does lack some abilities, both physically and otherwise, which have been filled by more than one player in his position, so I think it'll be a case of thanks for your efforts but look for first team football elsewhere in the summer, regardless of what division we're in
 



Not sure Chesterfield are in as bad a state as people think to be fair. My mate owns THE VAN YARD, that sponsor some of the stands, and they had meetings after the implosion that happened there, but they've been reassured that there is financial backing in place plans in place??? Your guess is as good as mine!, but my pal seems happy and confident with the situation, and if you knew them, you'd know why I don't believe it's as bad as it's made out to be. Anyway i think that Scougs would rather have some wages than none, cos I think he might find himself without a club shortly. It's whether he's shown enough to get another league 1 club interested?? Be a shame not to see him playing for another decent English club, he's never been the best, but he's far from being our worst!!!!
 
Being built like an 11 year old girl is no longer an excuse considering they make up some of the best players in the world.

Scougall is alright, hope he makes a decent career for himself.

Outrageous. They clearly couldn't handle his speed and agility and their only reply was to get rough with him.

Wages and length of contract would be a major issue . Chesterfield still being bank rolled by Dave Allen , who will sooner or later pull the plug . Don't think Chesterfield could afford them. Back to Scotland next season for both IMO .

Both players could do a job but not for us in the Championship .
 
Whilst he has always given 100%, he is just too small and lightweight, barely weighs nine stone.

I doubt it costs that much to keep Chesterfield as they are which is a League 2 or lower League 1 one club at best. If they have serious ambitions to be more than that then it will cost them a fortune as we know.

Dave Allen leaving just means they no longer can afford to push on and try to get the Championship.
 
Dave Allen hasn't left though, he's still there!
 
Bit of ethnic cleansing going on I reckon ,get all the dee dars out of the club and then build once allens price comes down low enough.
