Scougall , not Lavery , as a striker ?

Scougal is a very attack minded player, interesting to see how he links up with Billy.

Mistake !

Assuming Dones injured, we should go with Chapman above Scoogs.

Watch Scoogs bag a trick now !!!!!

UTB

lavery might not be ready for 90 mins
Agree. I doubt he's fit enough to press for 90 minutes like Done does. Scougall's got the energy for it.
On the ball I'd expect him to look to play Billy in when he receives the ball and look to make runs beyond him when Billy receives the ball.
Wouldn't be surprised if he's replaced by Lavery at around 60-70 minutes.

I presume that Scougs will revert to the Role he played in the Cup games under Clough, just behind the central striker,

Chris 'Midas Touch' Wider :)

Yeah, not got a lot of power but he gets them on target.

Watch me as I eat my own words and say 2 Our Wilders and 3 Hail Stefans !! So happy for him (and me) !

I was thinking about something like this for the 'Apologies' thread.

Going off the Commentary only - Scougs certainly seems to be involved in the game

Their lads were probably happy when they found out Done wasn't playing. What mugs they must feel like now.

Not seen anything to suggest lavery worthy of a start yet.

Thought he looked okay. Linked up with Sharp with some neat touches, and would've made it a great game if he'd found the bottom corner instead of hitting it just wide. Wouldn't be ahead of our other strikers on that viewing, but not close to having made a judgement on him either.

Lavery needs games and will get better with them. He'd hardly kicked a ball at first team over for over a year before he came here.

I think he gives us that bit of extra pace that only he and Chapman have, and I thought he looked OK when he came on if a bit rusty. I'd give him near enough 90 minutes in the 2 cup games and if he does ok start him alongside Billy at Chessy assuming Done is missing.

Scoogs was immense today, up front, mdfield and in tracking back in defense, ran his socks off.....thought there was 3 of him on the pitch

Agree, shouldn't ignore his defensive duties today. There was that one in the second half where their lad skipped past Lafferty, and Scougall came across and shielded it out for the a goal kick. Indicative of our work rate and organisation at the moment, but turned an oh shit moment into nothing.

Absolutely delighted with Scougalls performance today, not to mention throughout the season.

Another one who I've supported all the way, along with Top Scorer Billy Sharp.
