Scougall on-loan to Fleetwood on a 1 month deal.

We were promotion favourates yet again and failed big time . Don't want to be disrespectful but Fleetwood . Says something about the level of our assets.

Another one bites the dust hopefully .

Moving in the right direction .

Another Jock bites the dust ,Coutts must be bricking it ,anymore ?

Perhaps we can loan them our Was Scougall being booed when he came on? threads.

Loved his energy, but too often not enough quality to go with it.

Injuries get a mention in the write up as well, and there is the drive for players who can play a substantial number of games each season. Wonder if that's a factor too.

Good luck to him.

Too right, that's about as mental as I've gone at a match. Up there with Nuddy/Jags v L**ds.

I was there too but such is the enormous vastness of the new Wembley and being up in the cheap seats, I might as well have been watching at home.

It sounded like when an away team scores at Bramall Lane when they've brought 400 fans. Terrible stadium for football.

One swallow does not make a summer. Blokes been earning a living on the goal and Wembley performance . As a lot of these players , just not good enough and too little too late on performances .

He played very well that season in a role which suited him perfectly as 'all he had to do' was play in the hole behind the striker.

Of course that was far from all he did, he worked extremely hard and supported the midfield, but was still expected to arrive perfectly on time to pick up the scraps that dropped in and around the penalty area.

The problem is that he doesn't fit into any other formation/ set up and playing in Central midfield or out on the wings, he's lost.

As William Henry Foulkes said, injuries have been massive the last two seasons.

Could perhaps see him moving to Burton next year

Good luck to the lad...hopefully agent Scougs can inflict a bit of damage to the teams around us,starting with Barnsley.

He showed plenty when he first signed. He could still go on to have a decent career but the English lower leagues aren't suited to him. There are enough places where he could do well.

We might not have seen the back of him with it only being a one month loan though.

I'll be there tomorrow unfortunately, nephew is mascot (I tried my best!), so I shall report back.

Good luck to the lad. He continues the drain away, and it's always in the same direction - downwards.

There are reasons his form has dropped off, but once again when the professionals get to judge in the wider market, the verdict is the same. We really have filled our squad full of Shite.

The little fella will always have his place in Blades history.

Post here very rarely but read a lot and just want to echo this. I don't think Scougall is good enough now, but by God did I go fucking crackers when that hit the back of the net.

If this is goodbye, then cheers Scougs, and good luck for the future (as long as you're always shit in games against us obviously).

As Fleetwood seem to like our fringe players , I think we should offer them wispering Bob and Schoolgirl and any others and secure the signing of a certain Jimmy Ryan for next season , as ever UTB !

He was good first season. Too in and out last 2. Shame, I liked him but it is time for him to move on.

I do have fond memories of that goal but if his place in Blades history is a goal in a 5-3 defeat it's just a sad reflection of our standards.

No fault of the supporters' but I found that and the number of likes it received a bit sad.....in the nicest possible way. I get where you were coming from all the same.

My overriding memory of Scougall

The situation at Bradford just brings it home , that it was like watching boys v men in a number of games . Again watching Scougs on DVD when playing in Scotland , he looked class . In saying that so did Higdon.

We have been hampered with certain signings and performances .

Our midfield has been - overall - poor this season. A main problem has been our midfielders struggling to cover enough ground, and using Scougall in the right role with the right formation in a well-balanced team would have been one way of addressing that.

Instead, we've given numerous chances to players who for various reasons have been lacking the rather basic ability of running (fast, often and for long), and we've let them play themselves out of the team and back in, and out again, using more formations, playing styles and ways to compose a team than I can remember any United management doing in one season. The assessment of players that has taken place this season has not been impressive.

Our last match was more positive though and we looked to have a little better balance - with Flynn offering some of the Scougall's attributes from that left sided central midfield role that I think is Scougall's best. We've also got Cuvelier, who's got the potential to offer a bit of the same. Maybe there's more to come from Reed and Whiteman as well, so I'm not too downbeat. It is still possible to achieve a decent balance with the current set of players.

I'm sure Scougall is finished with us now, and he needs to find a club where he'll be asked to do what he's good at and where other players compensate for his obvious weaknesses.

I hope he does well. Might help Fleetwood take points off some of our rivals and it puts him in the shop window. If we're not going to keep him it would be nice to get a bit of cash for him.
