Just to pick up the point about someone from the championship not automatically being better than someone from say Aberdeen. Interesting that you use Aberdeen as an example - when Adam Rooney has moved from there to the almighty National League...

Sure did. He was also making mostly sub appearances the season before Aberdeen sold him with a return of about 1 goal in 4 apps. He was not their best player which seems to be the peddled myth of the moment. Also, Salford are hardly representative of the spending power of their current league are they? I believe they also signed players from Rotherham amongst others over the summer.

I know I'm not going to change anyone's mind here but at least present a case that isn't totally baseless.

Jamie Murphy has got premier league promotion on his record. Which is great achievement. Hes got 2 caps, But Scotland have weird thing on choosing players fleck is the obvious one. Im sure Ryan Gauld who was touted as 1 best technical Scottish youngsters wasnt picked for under 21 as he was too small

Scotland have to be careful & they have to win 1 of Albania away or isreal home otherwise as top seeds they are in big danger of being relegated to the bottom league as worst placed 3rd placed team. Having to play minnows regularly

Celtic will still end up as Champions. In the past forty years, only three clubs have run out as Champions of whatever the top league in Scotland has been - the last but the Glesgae clubs being Aberdeen and Dundee Utd in the eighties, and you have to go twenty years previous to find anyone else outside of those four.

The cash sits with the Old Firm. The rest of Scottish football is there to make the numbers up. It's a two-horse race.

Yeah, I don't think anyone would dispute the Old Firms dominance in terms of titles, but would you expect it to be any other way? It's hardly much different from the one or two club dominance in Spain or Germany is it? Sure you'll get the odd Atletico or Wolfsburg moment every ten years or so but other than that, those leagues are sewn up.

Doing research on anything would be a novel approach on here.

It seems we prefer to 'tell it like it like it is' and just shoot from the hip, bollocks and all.

I commend your restraint HibbyBlade and admire you leaping to the defence of your fellow countymen. Having said that, it must stick in your craw a bit, to find yourself defending the Old Firm.

Yeah I'm not often crawing about their achievements.

I'm not delusional. Scottish football is what it is. Its the equivalent of other European leagues of a similar size, Sweden, Denmark, Austria etc... With a couple of bizzareley oversized teams thrown in there for good measure. Is it world class stuff, no. Is it as bad as the "lads bants" brigade make out? Again, no. I actually think it is on the up at the moment too, there are some cracking youths and well regarded managers up here just now. This season especially has been very open and entertaining.

It's a shame, because the passion for football across Scotland is unbelievable. And the support is very partisan - your local team matters (unless religion rears it's ugly head then that is another matter)

I went to an end-of-season match at Dunfermline vs Dundee Utd a few years ago when I was based in Scotland. There was a real resignation that the top two were always gonna be the top two but 'this is fitba', and 'this is mah team' and nothing would tear the supporters away from 'The Pars'

Yeah, following Hibs for years and more recently Sheffield Utd, you get the same vibe from the support. Youre not going to the Champions League, but your club matters and anyone who says otherwise can do one.

Scotland. Ha ha fucking ha. Even wales are better than them. Never had owt against scotland but when you hear how much they hate the english, you cant help but laugh at how shit they are. John Fleck is too good and too classy to be associated with such a joke of a national team, they are a reflection of Scottish football on the whole. SHIT.

As many know, I venture up several times a season. It's perfectly possible to watch the SPFL and enjoy it, without constantly trying to relate it to England. As several others on here who make the odd trip up with me will vouchsafe.

Coming soon - Clan Dew isn't as good as 20 year old Macallan and the covers band in the pub aren't as good as the Rolling Stones.

I should also add, in view of the latest quality addition above, that I've also posted on Hibs Forum for years too and never once been subjected to anything approaching the levels of hatred their supposed to have for all things Sassenach.

When will they ever learn?
England know the value of players developed through the Blades system.

But this like 95% of all football league clubs. Like us we know that we will never win the premier league or fa cup. But i this is my team

I've spent quite a lot of time in Scotland over the past 10 years or so, and have friends who live there. I totally agree Raul, never had any experience of Sassenach hating. They're not entirely keen on stereotypically "English" characters, usually from south of Watford, who've screwed the Scottish industry and economy, rather like has been inflicted on northern England. I'm not keen on those types either - gimme a decent Scot anyday!

Whisper it but Hearts are packing out at probably the best ground to watch a football game. Easter Road not bad either. Good for Scottish football to see Edinburgh clubs on the up

McLeish is a big Rangers man too.
the SFA aren’t ;)
i thought that too, however i’m reliably informed by the Rangers lads i work with that he was never really accepted cos he was a ‘sheepshagger’ (Aberdeen)
who knows..

Do they really believe all this conspiracy stuff?

The Scotland squad used to be full of Rangers players but truth be told they haven't had many great Scottish players for a few years now and those that have been decent have featured.

Sounds as though Flecky is best out of that shambles. I’m sure it’s won’t be long before he has another Scottish manager to impress.
