I am reading conflicting threads on who our scapegoat is this season. Last season was bad enough on the scapegoat front, with only Lunny staking a late claim, after Leon was bombed out early on.
Now, I am seeing that Robinson is in the frame, along with McGoldrick and Lundstram!! What the hell is going on? We need to get our act together and decide on which one we need to berate and stick to it, cos all this tooing and froing between SG's is making us all look a bit tinpot.

late entry for wanker post of the year? probably...but for fooks sake!

Robinson isn’t a scapegoat. It’s a fact he’s been poor for the most part but there’s still time obviously.

A scapegoat is someone to blame when something is going wrong or had gone wrong. Neither Lundstram, Robinson or Didsy have been made scapegoats. People have just expressed their views and concerns about them.

In the case of Robinson many are saying he doesn't look good enough, is low on confidence and doesn't work hard enough off the ball. That's all pretty much true. No one has blamed him for us drawing games when we were winning, or for us losing matches. He's not been made a scapegoat.

I've not read anything that suggests Lundstram is being made a scapegoat either.

Didsy? There's some argument here due to his woeful finishing, but he's not been blamed for us losing or drawing games.

The reason we lost or drew games recently was down to consistent individual errors at the back. Interestingly Basham, Egan and O'Connell have largely avoided criticism for these errors. If anyone was to be made a scapegoat then it's them.

Henderson was a scapegoat early on in the season, as he made a couple of absolute howlers which cost us results, and did so in fairly quick succession added to the one he made during the summer for England under 21s.

hang on, what have Egan and O’Connell done to deserve criticism. Infact what has the whole team, 8th in the premier league done to deserve it whilst we are at it

W⚓ post of the year candidate......😄. UTB

Two things that can never be stated enough;
The actual definition of scapegoat and why Sports Personality of the Year really means ‘Sports Person of the Year’ and it’s not necessary to actually have a personality.

It’s you. You’re the scapegoat. Its your fault this board is populated by shitwasps. The sooner we can unload you onto a lower league club board the better.

Im confused....................... I thought it was McBurnie
It’s Hammond. He’s still playing for us but we can’t see him. Lunny passed to him a couple of times but his first touch let him down

It would be interesting to invert this and see if any player hasn't been slagged off.

I can only think of Moose - but then he does get some stick for being unfit and injury prone.

Yeah.
Lineker won it many years ago didn't he?

I posted the McGoldrick thread and still stand by the point he's not clinical enough in front of goal.

At some point it could bite us on the arse.

(And I knowwwwwwww, he's been vital in other areas but he's also had shit loads of (excellent!!) chances and scored a grand total of ZERO.

Well you keep posting, telling us what we already know, until it actually bites us on the arse, then you can say ‘told you so’ and if it doesn’t bite us on the arse we can all give you pelters.
;)

I hope you're not trying to make me a scapegoat on this thread? 😂

I was merely highlighting how easy it can be to turn players into scapegoats.

Mcgoldrick is key to how we play this season, just as Duffy was last season, look back to the chances we didn’t create in that run of games when he was out injured ..

If we could get Ravel Morrison onto the pitch with his reputation he’d be the #1 SG 2019 no doubt.. only a few weeks left, but I suspect 1 game would be enough..

That's the plan! I hope to god I'm getting pelters and eating humble pie and he bags 10-15 goals between now and the end of the season.

Hang on a minute, in this day of inclusion, where there is no winner at a school sports day for fear of making someone cry, why dont we blame them all. For if they hadnt got us promoted last season, then we wouldnt be struggling (FFS) in 8th in the Premier League, and wouldnt need a scapegoat.

Back on planet earth, I would never give any player grief for anything other than effort levels. I would suggest every player in the PL, not just ours, has dropped a bollok so far this season.

2 years ago we were wondering if we could keep the run going and get out of L1, now were 8th in the PL, above Arsenal, Everton and West Ham - who have all spent over £100million in the last 18 months.
