Say goodbye to Brooks

Hanging on to him will send a statement of intent McCabe. Sell him at this stage and you can FU** OFF!

Even though he has stated already that he wants to stay here and get into the first team, stop panicking he ain't goin nowhere

Absolutely no benefit to selling him for us or the player.

He's just now getting game time to develop.

Some great moments but needs far more match time to have a consistent end product.

His value is only going to increase.

Given our past record of selling young talent I would not at all surprised to see Brooks leave before the end of the window.

Our board have sold every decent young player we've had through the ranks, and there is no reason to believe they will be any different now.

Since Wilders been here the only players we've sold are the players he's been happy to sell .

Let's wait and see .

Promising, got fast feet but still got a lot to learn and he will do that better here than at a Premiership B team, he has already been fucked off by Man City.

I was about to post something similar. He's a step above most of what we currently have, I just hope with the sell-on money we've had from the Walker & Maguire moves that we can afford to keep him rather than taking a bargain-basement offer. He could become a cult hero for us if we can keep & build around him

Never mind the offer. What ya gonna do when a Prem team offers him ten times the wage? Becomes a little less simplistic then, doesn't it? Who's going to explain to Fleck, Sharp, Basham and Coutts why a kid with no grown-up credits on his CV is on twice their salary?

By looks of brooks tonight he plays with no fear, and if he's still here come end of January I'll be surprised

Utterly predictable and increasingly tiresome.

Let's hope he's rubbish in future, eh?

In fact, at the risk of deflating the ever increasing mania, he did one or two clever things; he's a talent, but he wasn't great tonight.
Just as well his final attempt at a lay-off is usually crap then :)

The issue I think for all of us is not so much when or if brooks goes but how much we get for him. He's arguably got more potential than anyone we've had before... Certainly a better footballer.

Genuinely if you are brooks do you want the move at this stage?

He's clearly in wilders plans and in and around the first team here - what's the rush to sit in a premier league under 23 side. Hes had the experience of that at man city and getting released.

Fair enough he'll get a pay day but if I was him i'd want to play week in week out first and earn a move where i'll be a first team regular. Wilder trusts him and he's played him in every match so far this season - his reputation will only improve if he keeps playing as he is.

Nowhere near the finished article. Lots and lots of potential but he won't get game time in a premier league team. Interesting that there have been multiple scouts watching him but to date as far as we know no offers.
Agree long term his future is probably at a higher level just not sure it's yet. That said DCL never filled me with anticipation and he's now in Everton first team so what the hell do I know!!!!

And every young fucker who left us has obviously wanted to leave otherwise they would have stayed brooks wants to stay he said so himself is that not enough for the fans who by the sounds of it actually want him to be sold so they can be proved right

Not at all. That's not what I said.

The pleasure many take in eagerly anticipating his departure so they can have a self-indulgent tantrum is oh so predictable and clearly outweighs any enjoyment in watching him. What a shame. We have it every time he plays. It's the Bladesfans' Way.
Yarn

I haven't thought much to him from his appearances before tonight, but he had a very good game and showed a lot of talent. But then, so did Lavery imo.

While he's a player we should be excited about we should also recognise he's got a lot of work to do. Bit wasteful with the final ball.

I actually think Brooks would get game time with Everton.

The one worry about Brooks is his fitness. He's played through summer. May need a break at some stage.
