My agenda is to be level headed and understand why Chris is not chucking money about, it is because there has not been any real investment into the club since 2008 ish and unfortunately it's not going to change any time soon.

To be fair we have been at our best when running on a shoe string, it is part of our DNA. Please don't be fooled that McCabe getting lucky with Chris has fundimently changed the foundations of the club.

The only sound investment in the last 10 years is keeping supporting shirecliffe.

What has any of that got to do with your OP about the Saudis getting arrested? He wasn't splashing the cash in the transfer window that closed two months before they got arrested. He didn't splash the cash during our promotion season, we had to sell DCL, Adams and Rambo.

The simple fact is, he's not that rich, something we've known since he joined the club.

You claimed in your OP that you knew little about middle eastern politics but are happy to contradict Swiss and DerekAcora who both live and work out there. Now you're trying to attribute the Prince's lack of spending over the last two years to an event that happened two days ago.

This thread has all the hallmarks of a wind up.

Chill everyone, I do not know the ins and outs of current detailed politics of Saudi but did have a good look into the situation in Bahrain only two years ago when turning down a job offer in their Steel Industry. Also its amazing how much you can get up to date with the BBC website within a short space of time, another 5 minute slot on news at 10 tonight, so what is happening in our joint owners home patch is certainly significant.

I agree that at present nothing has changed, at the time of seeing the news, we did not know if our Prince was one of the 11 arrested and I could not find a list. That would have an effect on us if he was on it.

I suppose as I have gone on I have come across negative, which is not my intension, as normally I am a bit of a clapper, with regards to the team, though as one of many who got their figures burned buying SUFC shares, I am cynical with regards to the business side of the club, I gave up following the accounts of the club as they tell us nothing now and I don't have the time to look into it any deeper, with nothing to gain.

What concerns me, is there is a level of expectation that Wilder will be well supported in Jan and I am sure he will be supported in the same way as he was in the summer, which is working within our means and keeps everyone within our pay levels. This is great if it works, but when some of our players are offered wages in the millions, or Wilder, unfortunately this policy will probably have to change and in the short term will probably need additional support over and above what we can raise from football. I for one doubt that the money from Walker will go back into the team, as McCabe is not daft and doubt and additional revenue's from player sales, pre the Prince deal would get split between them. The simple fact is we do not know the full details of the deal. All I know is the PLC that I bought shares in owns half the team, with the Prince the other half, with McCabe and his families firms owning all the fixed assets.

It was certainly sold to us that the Prince and his connections, would invest heavily when Premiership was on the cards, well because of the magic of Wilder, this is actually a possibility, but before this weeks events in Saudi, I don't think many were confident of the promised game changing investment. All this week shows, is any major investment from the Prince and his friend is even less likely than last.
 



Just seen Pinchy post, could not be further from truth, I put my money where my mouth was and lost, and I have not seen simple straight forward set of accounts for the club as it was for years. As they do not exist. We have had double the crowds for the last six years of our competition (average) and sold players for millions nearly every year. Don't believe all the McCabe hype. I have no idea of who is connected to McCabe on this forum and I admire him as a businessman, he kept his property business afloat when many did not in 2008/9. The ground is something we are proud of and he is a great talker, I remember questioning him at an AGM when he was using player spending cape very much to his advantage.

Just don't think all is rosy, just because the team is doing well, the two do not always go together, as Bassett proved. Anyway that's the end of my holiday, so back to working and only catching up on here every couple of days at best. Thanks to those of you who added some more info.

2005/2006 Season was the last time we spent more on players than we made from selling them. We won promotion to the Premier League. You don't suppose they'd fancy trying it again do yer?o_O

Prior to this year our highest average attendance in the last six years was 21892, last year. The lowest 17507. Which was actually the lowest since 2001. How that's double I don't know. Perhaps you can explain?

The accounts are available but the reality would appear to be that you don't believe them rather than your claim that they don't exist. What is it about them that you think is wrong?

So obviously that means we have made large profits every year and McCabe is coining it in.

Given you wonderful detailed analysis of our income, perhaps you'd like to look at our costs? I'll give you a satrter for ten, Naysmith and Hendrie on 4 & 3 year deals respectively, took about £8m out of the club between them.

Lost it I heard. Prince and McCabe asked Lewis Hamilton to hide it for them for tax purposes. He hid it at the bottom of Nicole Scherzinger's knicker drawer after using an old key to sneak into her apartment. She found it, thought it was discarded loose change from an X Factor season fee and used it to get her hair done before the old £1 coins went out of circulation.
