Whilst I think Berge is better than Norwood, I wouldn’t say to replace him yet as there’s still Lundstram.

Why was the SKY commentator calling him SONDER? - is that the proper pronunciation or is the commentator just a dick?

Think i am seeing why brighton and fulham let him go
Said this last season difference between championship players and premier is consistency and decision making , they can all ping a 40-50 yard pass to feet they are professional footballers but doing it consistently and making the right pass at the right time sets them apart

Why did Lunny play when he’s messing CW about by not signing his contact ,when there’s Berg looking good, best thing CW could do is show him the door like he did with Duffy. At the same time send Norwood with him and play the loan player

I called this move at the end of last season and got shouted down. Berge will take over from Norwood at some point. Biggest signing and he isn’t here to make the numbers up. Younger player and will prove to be a better player in the long run.

Is some madness going on. Basham, was our player of the year last season and acclaimed by many pundits as one of the best defenders in the premier league. Brighton and Fulham let Norwood go and where did they finish last season.

Last season what made us tick was McGoldrick. When he dropped back he dictated play. He would invite the midfield to run at the defence to take them on or shoot, or lay the ball off for a shot, he would play triangle balls with the wide men or overlapping centre backs. Our attacking play was a variety and it made us unpredictable as opponents didn't just expect the cross in and overloads in their box.

Towards the end of last season he barely played and we became predictable with our attacking being endless crosses into the box from wide positions for Billy and McBurnie. Sadly Billy is shorter than the tall centre halves and relied on scraps from Oli, who would largely be found on the edge of the box competing for the expected and predictable cross.

For me I'd like to see Berge start for Norwood, if Norwood was to be dropped, and see what Burke can do in front of him in place of Lundstram. Maybe he's the catalyst that's been missing since we lost McGoldrick and can be the new Duffy that we've missed from our attacking play. If not then why the hell have we bothered signing him. Surely Wilder didn't spend his summer just recruiting bench warmers.

Must now take Norwoods position. He made more forward passes/runs in 20 mins than Norwood did in 70. Norwood was garbage tonight, even with free kicks and corners.

Different kind of player and it showed.

Norwood lacks physicality and energy but he sits in deep midfield and plays some beautiful long passes.
He plays like a quarter back pulling the strings....use him this way he’s still an excellent player.

However tonight Berger played the Lunny role getting forward more....loads of mobility and strength on the ball....he seemed confident demanding and looking for the ball however Berge passing is far better than Lunny’s....was impressed....he showed signs of why we paid so much for him.

We looked a better team when he came on. Lunny has to go. He looked off the pace all the time that pass from Norwood in 2nd half middle of park if he had collected that then swift boot up front and Sharp was away.

Even Ben Osborne left footer he may be would have been better than Lunny.

Berge is really growing in this team and he was one player that didn't get bullied off the ball at all.
On tonight's showing Wilder has some problems to solve ,we have to find something different. Not saying the system has been rumbled but we have some players who cant take it to the next level.
As Wilder often says stand still and you go backwoods ,I think we are at the cross roads.
In Wilder we trust ! ! he will not allow that to happen.
He says he's not sentimental I think that will be on the line this coming season.

Fair point....however the effectiveness of a player is often down to how they are played.
Norwood isn’t your average allround midfielder....he has Realky good strengths and fairly poor weaknesses.
The trick to to develop a style and find a role where you are using his strengths.

Guessing you wasn't watching when we restarted then
Guess you havent got a clue what you are on about. Besides that Berge and Norwood play totally different games ,Berge holds on to the ball ,Norwood passes ,Norwood intercepts , Berge receves the ball. Berge played Norwoods role against Southampton and we got tonked. If he had been fully fir he would have played instead of Lundstram.

If Berge keeps being the one dictating the pace of play, is there room for Norwood?

And I know which one I’d rather have in the side if I had to choose... 🇳🇴
