Some comments from Genk and Norway fans I came across on his Fifa Ultimate Team card:

'I know for sure. This guy played amazingly so far in the CL, and is our best player this season. He has lots of experience already despite being 21 and he has so much talent and potential. Very tall and strong but surprisingly fast and agile. This season, he has become even better by becoming more of a box-to-box. He has it all to make it in a top league at a top club :)'

'This is one of the most promising players for the future, he has everything to become a very great player. He has played in the EL twice, once reaching the quarter finals, is in the Norwegian starting XI, champions of Belgium and now in the CL and he's only 21! I'm glad he's still here and I hope he can improve more this season and show Europe why he's such a special player!'

'He is extremly rapid (I watch him mostly when he plays on the nt). He deserve more defendig aswell, but he has a terrible shot'

'You're right, he can outrun pretty much everyone, he just doesn't do it a lot since he's a CDM. Imagine this card tho with 80+ pace, then this would be a broken card'

'Damn, signed for Sheffield United. What a signing! Hopefully Man United enjoy their 15 yr old keeper the press thought was this guy haha'

Genkfan here to see how you guys will treat this gem of a player. ;)

I think Sander will be an incredible addition to your squad. On and off the field he's a great player with the best personality.

On the field he can both play DM and box-to-box. I'm not sure which position suits him best because he did both flawless. He's not the "passing a player with some skillmove" kinda guy, but he's so strong with the ball that opponents just can't get it off of him. He loves driving up the field through the middle with the ball on his feet. He makes it looks so easy to recover balls too because of his strong body and great positioning skills.
Our CL campaign was a disaster but Berge was one of the few light points because he clearly was one of the few of Genk ready for this level of football.

Off the field he's a great person. Always down to earth but not afraid to say what went wrong without the unnecessary excuses we always hear in interviews. On paper he wasn't our team captain, but in practice he definitely was.

He was one of the keyplayers for our success of becoming champions last year. You'll see soon he won't have troubles adapting to the level of the PL. He's really that good. Enjoy it, he's really something. :)

And btw, I see you guys are looking for a song. One that we sang in Genk was "Sander Berge, he scores with his d*ck". Because yeah, he once did. :D And he loved that (I remember him laughing to it while warming up during the few games he was a reserve), so it would be funny if he'd hear that in Sheffield too. :)

Thanks for that....the secret of Wilders success is unlike other clubs he doesn’t focus on “individual talent”.

He puts so much focus on creating ”a team”. He buys players with off the field personality, players who have fun in training but are leaders on the pitch who work hard and really care. Many of our players were captains at their previous clubs and have a real desire to make progress.

Good lad, 21 and moving to another new city. Wonder if we’re putting him up in Copthorne

Berge definitely fits in that picture. He'll always put the team first and plays in function of the greater good. He's only 21 but already very mature.

I hope I'll be able to visit Sheffield one day to see him play again. Sheffield now has an extra fan in Belgium, I'll definitely follow his progress.

Given what happened to one of our ex-players in court in recent years I'm hoping we give this one a miss.

Cheers though.

Make sure you give us a shout if you do. Tickets are hard to get but someone will be able to help.

Good beer however, is very easy to obtain here!

I will. I'll keep following this messageboard now whenever he plays.

Best would be against Brighton or Aston Villa. That way I can see Trossard or Samatta play too. Two other players of our champions squad.

And now in Genk it's rebuilding, almost all the talent is gone...

Can't believe they're making Sander train with the rest of the lads! Surely he should be to one side... Sipping champagne... Classical music playing in the background 👌

To the tune of He's One Of Our Own. "He scores with his dick, he scores with his diiiiickk, Sander Berge..he scores with his dick" Thank you.

As a Manchester United fan (and a Norwegian) I can only congratulate you with this signing. There are 3 great Norwegian prospects at the moment, Haaland and Ødegaard being the other two. Nothing wrong with that 15 years old keeper, but sorry kid, you ruined my day.

At least you might be getting Josh King 😉🇧🇻

Here's what our Sandra had to say:

BERGE: IT'S A DREAM COME TRUE
Sheffield United broke their transfer record to sign Norway international midfielder Sander Berge for £22m from Genk, and the midfielder has told Sky Sports News that it's a dream come true to join the Blades.
"It's a dream come true," he said. "The club has really shown that they wanted me here and I feel like part of the family. I've been admiring the team and the way they play for a long time now and it seems like a fantastic group.
"I think it's a system that will suit me well. Of course it's about adapting as soon as possible but the way we want to play is very clear so I think I'll get used to it very quickly. I'm looking forward to feeling the atmosphere of a first Premier League game."

The future of the Norway national team rests with these 3.

Haaland 19 and at Borussia Dortmund
Odegaard 21 and at Real Madrid
Berge 21 and at Sheffield United.

Bet Haaland and Odegaard are jealous

Yeah, well, that´s a big "might". King is a good player on this day, but not my first choice, to be honest. With all the injuries we have, hey, let´s go and buy an injured player.. haha.

About Berge, let me add that he comes across as a really likeable guy, with his feet well planted on the ground. And I´m sure the female section of your fan base will be trilled as well :)

Congrats again.

"It's been a dream of mine to one day play for the Blades since Jostein Flo's arm bandage".

Did you know Keith Lemon pinched the wrist bandage idea from our Jostein Flo.
Did anyone know what injury Flo had? Im sure he wore that bandage for a full season.
