Hang on another twist - current bun saying we can't agree fee. Sky say everything is moving along well. Who to believe?

Not the sun is always the answer to that question

He's been capped a lot for Norway which is a bit like being capped a lot by Northern Ireland.
He plays in a league that's a step up from the SPL but not a massive step up.
He looks a promising player but if he was one of the top talents in Europe he wouldn't be signing for United.
If he does turn up at the Lane I hope he's given a chance if he doesn't turn out to be the next de Bruyne within his first couple of games.
Because George Best would only get in a NI side. Dumb Ass statement!

Remember when Man City signed Robinho? That was their first show of intent. Anybody know what happened to Man City after that ?

Don't be so dismissive of Belgian football and it's League. It has consistently churned out some of the best talents in world football for over a decade and turned the Belgian national team to one of the best around.

Liverpool still worry me a bit. They were more than impressed when he played against them apparently. If I'm honest I can't believe that there seems to be only us after him. A nervy day ahead methinks.

Why wouldn't we be signing him? Where's the hundreds of others being watched by teams like Napoli, playing for his country, playing in the champions league? Wheres the hundreds being labelled as part of the "golden generation" of footballers for his country? Where's the hundreds of others making Liverpool look distinctly average? Would you be happy if we were signing Messi? Or would you try and shit all over that one too?

I think you're spot on. Some folks just cannot come to terms with our club's progress. Not having a pop at Mr Shower Cap, because I actually think it's probably the majority of fans at the present time, not just one or two. It really hasn't sunk in that we ARE one of the top club's in the toughest football league in the world - and we do have a good chance of playing in Europe next season. So we ARE a very big draw for players, whether that's established Prem players or players from abroad who want to become established Prem players. And the plaudits this club has had from all quarters this season won't have done us any harm at all in terms of making us a very attractive prospect. Neither will the league position.

I think Wilder is playing this one brilliantly. He said before the transfer window opened, that this isn't a great transfer window. Interesting, I've heard other people copying what he said, on RS for example, he's got the pundits saying the same thing, "January isn't a great transfer window". And he's got folks on here believing that as well. It's just a smoke screen. January can be an excellent transfer window. It's what you do in it that counts.

Whilst there's no doubt that there are more players on the move in summer, and therefore potentially more choice, there is also a higher level of competition for them. What Wilder has done here is to play down the January transfer window - but he's been very active under the radar. The type of players we are after now are a different level to what I've ever seen Sheffield United go for, in 50 years of watching them. (Perhaps with the exception of that young Argie bloke - Maradonna - who no-one had heard of at the time).;)

To be fair Klopp was more than impressed with us but he’s not tried signing any of our players thus far.

He wants to play every game and show the very biggest teams he can dominate a midfield in one of the worlds strongest leagues. Current CL challenging teams wouldn't give him that opportunity. He'd be part of a rotation of players who are most likely more established than him. It might take him the length of his contract to fully establish himself.

That's why he's available to us. Also, 2 transfers = 2 signing on fees/agents fees. And they probably expect the next fee to be £30m+

Big clubs don't need to take the risk. If he's the hot we hope he will be it's nowt to them to pay 60/70 million in 18 months

Nail on the head. Give it 2 years and silly money will be discussed.

Not really fair though is it. He may have been impressed with our team and tactics, but individuals are a different thing altogether.
