I'd he looks like being a world beater and we could miss out, why not agree him to end the season there, having bought him or a guaranteed buy and loan the Greek lad who can also play midfield and defence?

We're not even being close to being a side who can spend that amount of money and then have a player join in 6 months!

"It would be a fixed price of around 23 million euros, but with bonuses it can easily exceed 26 million. The Limburgers also receive a serious percentage on a later resale. Sheffield wants an answer to this proposal as quickly as possible."

Exactly, we ain't going to break or at least get very close to our transfer record and let him go out on loan, even we aren't daft enough to do that

I’m tempted to say fuck it off if the demand is that he goes back on loan. We need him for the run in and a potential Europe challenge ! He’ll be available for cheaper in the summer anyway.

Midfielder Sander Berge (21) of Racing Genk should become the most expensive transfer from the Belgian league. Yesterday, the confirmed national champion will not let his golden rooster go.

At the moment, the record amount is still in the name of Youri Tielemans, when Monaco took it from Anderlecht for 26 million euros in 2017. According to English sources, Sheffield United made a second bid for Genk on Berge in the meantime. It would be a fixed price of around 23 million euros, but with bonuses it can easily exceed 26 million. The Limburgers also receive a serious percentage on a later resale. Sheffield wants an answer to this proposal as quickly as possible.

At Genk, the size of this bid was not confirmed, although Dimitri de Condé announced yesterday (Tuesday) that the interest is concrete and the amounts run high. "It comes to Belgian standards about extremely high figures and that often makes it difficult," said the Genk TD. “So today we have no clear picture of whether Berge will play with us on 1 February or not. That is discussed with him and his entourage, but the content of those conversations remains internal. "

Yesterday evening, negotiations continued on a possible transfer from the 21-year-old Norwegian international. He rather chose to stay with Genk several times, but would no longer be reluctant to consider an immediate transfer if the picture was correct. KRC Genk, which could use its top match in the battle for Play-off 1, would prefer to keep Berge in the Luminus Arena until the end of this season.

Never thought in my entire life that SHEFFIELD UNITED would make a record-breaking signing.

For me, costing £27m he should integrate straight into the team, maintain a 100% passing rate all season and single handedly drive us to a Champions League spot or he will just be a failed signing like McBurnie.

We as fans, should get on his back as soon as possible and demand perfection.

😂

Check out my... I mean Akinbiyi's thread on Callum Robinson from 31 Dec then make your own mind up on whether I know anything or not :)

The answer is still no, 13 pages........ two messages...

"If we get back 7mil sell him.
If they're offering about half just loan him, let him score goals (he will, he's proved he can and will at that level) then reassess in the summer when we'll be able to give him another crack of the whip or sell him for more or less what we paid.

If he goes we keep Clarke as fifth choice. Billy has proven he's up to the task in recent weeks. No biggie.

A loan according to TransferChanger on twitter. Would be happy with that. They'll use him as a striker."

Or you could just tell us and save us all a lot of time and effort.
Change of heart recently. Will be allowed to leave the club on a loan basis if an offer comes in that he likes. Provided they plan to use him as a striker.

No pushing from the club, so not sure about replacement recruitment etc.
