Just thinking (I know - stop thinking!) but if this lad is six foot five will he not have back trouble, I know Peter Crouch didn't suffer to much with his back over the years, - maybe an exception or just looked after himself which i know he does, but tall lads usually suffer from back trouble - or am i over thinking this 😄😄
Zlatan is the same height and still playing at 38. Deano played well into his late 30s as did Luca Toni.

I'm 6ft 5 and I've had a back operation, my physical condition at the time wasn't that of a 21 year old professional footballer though and I'd never heard of a 'deadlift'. He'll be fine.

Sheffield United will have to increase their offer for Sander Berge to prise him from Genk by Friday’s transfer cut-off, Football Insider has learned.

The Premier League club are in pole position to land the Norway international, 21, after holding extensive talks over a deal.

A Blades source has told Football Insider that the club felt they had reached an agreement with Genk at a price of £18-20million for Berge.

But the Belgium outfit have moved the goalposts in the last 24 hours and are now holding out for a higher fee.

United are hopeful Berge wants to make the move to Bramall Lane and they are the only club in the running to get him.

This comes after West Ham tabled a bid for the highly rated 21-year-old earlier in the window.

That did not come close to Genk’s asking price and the Hammers subsequently pursued alternative targets.

Berge is out of contract at the Jupiler Pro League club in 18 months’ time and this means they are ready to cash in.

Berge is regarded as one of the best young central midfielders in Europe.

I think that's the end of that and the reason other names have reared their head. CW won't let clubs have his pants down. Agreeing a price and then moving the goal posts and asking for more is not cricket.

Fk em if that's the case

Some of the website links on this thread are to to news stories or developments that are days old. Don't read too much into them, if at all.

Think that's a nothing story - previously both clubs were close to an agreement, this indicates to me that they're still discussing an agreement, so how could Genk widen the goalposts on a deal that was never finalised and agreed?

The question is now:
1.Time to walk away?
2.Increase offer?
3.Bluff them by saying you’re going to other targets to get price you’ve already offered
🤔
I hope our boys are good at poker🤣

Anything Football Insider write is bollocks. They've said Wilder is going to Brighton and we're signing Daniel Amartey, Todd Kane, Loris Benito and Matt Phillips

Bleedin' 'ell do people overreact. Even if Football Insider had a good track record - it doesn't - I don't think Genk changing the terms will end the deal. The fact we've been discussing the fee for two weeks suggests it hasn't exactly been a straight forward one, but it also shows we're committed.

Don't trust anything about this Berge deal unless it comes from HLN (who have said a deal is getting closer today)

It could be Richard Cadette who's the United insider that's spoken to Football insider!? ;-). We don't have long to wait and as accurate as RC was, I'd rather that sort of info stay in the club and I remember thinking it was any minute that we'd sign Maupay based on RC's posts but in the end it just didn't happen and what will be will be.

The Berge info isn't exactly staying within the club.

I don't see how Richard Cadette made any difference to transfers other than keeping us on here informed.

Yeah I do get why it was stopped for the sake of the club and that.

Just added a bit of excitement for us on here, didn't he.

The longer it goes the more we (the fans) will panic but if it takes an extra 2 days to make sure that we can have him for the rest of this season then it's worth it.
It's also a very good sign for his character that he wants to join us now (if reports are true) rather than wait until the summer.

I don't understand what all this fannying about is about. I thought players in Belgium could just cancel their contracts and join us for no fee? 🤔
