Apparently the deal is hinging on us throwing a Napapirji tee shirt in. He wants a long sleeve one, but so far we’ve only offered a short sleeve one. It’s all part of the negotiating process and nothing to be concerned about.

He can have my coat, never worn it since I got chilli suace down it.

Interesting fact. Napapijiri is actually an Italian brand, not Norweigen

My source says there is one minor detail that is the stumbling block but this should be resolved shortly.

The original contractual offer in the summer had a property in the deal for the young man however this was written in by McAbe and was a bedsit on Parsons Cross. The Prince has now upgraded this offer to a £1m pad in Dore. Just waiting for the fax machine to send the details over to him.
the dreaded fax machine...

"Negotiations reopened":

What's your opinion on Sander Berge Bergen .unknown quantity to us blades as he is also a Norwegian perhapes you have some knowledge?

How have you come to that conclusion ?

If he performs as well for us in the PL like he has for Genk in the Champions League then we’ll have a potentially world class on our hands.

Plus age, position and Premier League value inflation, innit.

Throw in one of those very stylish, no name, brand shirts from the wendy shop who could turn one of those down.
It would be perfect for washing the brake dust off his new Lambo wheels.

The highlights video posted before shows what he's capable of.

I put this earlier to give a little balance to the impression you get from that video:

He does have games where he looks stationary and his passing more safe than penetrating. Not quite sure about his stamina/ability to press and cover ground over 90 minutes, he's a big lad and it takes some effort to constantly run around.

I'd also be very excited if he signed. I think he could play Lundstram's role, Norwood's role, maybe even Basham's role. I think there's a lot he could gain too. Wilder expects real contributions offensively and defensively from his midfielders and Berge would be asked to make the most of his attributes, not just spraying some passes around from the centre circle.

You could have a look at this as well.

If we stretched how we did with the McBurnie fee I'd be very surprised if we weren't willing to do the same for Berge.

I don't think the fee will be the problem ultimately. Certainly if we sell Robinson.

gathering our thoughts.. does anyone with a "source" even know if this is solid? as in.. Is he actually interested or is it purely agent talk.. Don't wanna crack open the kleenex for no reason.

Don't think we're going to have a problem with a fee. For me the worry is it one of the top 6 swoop in before we get him.

The loan back doesn't make sense for him or us.

He's not a kid who isn't ready. He's 22 in 2 weeks and is more than ready to step up to a top league.

And we aren't some huge powerhouse who can spend big on players then loan them out and not benefit from them for 8 months.

Now is the time for him to move from Genk. He should have probably moved in the summer tbh.

but.. IF this was the only way... Would you?

On a thread about Berge a Leeds fan questioned if we had the squad depth for Europe.
I noticed he also liked a tweet about Robinson to WBA to help fund Berge.

I often have a cheeky peak at Wit's twitter during transfer windows, he's not as on the money as you'd expect for Wilder's best pal. Probably intentional though.

I would sell Robinson if it was needed to get Berge over the line. But I'm also fairly happy to see if he can kick on next season. As others have said, he has made some telling contributions late in games. He's fallen short of expectations but maybe his injury has just set him back a bit.
