I'll be honest and say I don't actually know anything about any of these players we've been linked with so I'm kind of struggling to get too excited about it really.
Yes, the figures being thrown about would suggest that we mean business and are looking to build on what we already have so just hoping that these players, IF they do indeed arrive, really can add that bit of extra quality to the group.
Time will tell I guess and I trust Mr Wilder's judgement 100% but please dont let any of them turn into vastly more expensive versions of Hussey, Higdon, Holmes, Leonard etc etc . . . . . . PLEASE!!!

Well Zone Man......Berge is one of the biggest talents to come out of Norway for many years. He’s rated as amongst the best players in the Belgian league.
Several of Europe’s top clubs have been monitoring him.....apparently many say he’s destined for the top....he should be way out of our league.
Can only assume he and his agent are so confident of his ability that they see us as the perfect stepping stone/ shop window to develop and show case his talents

It’s impressive really.....Berge could easily go to a big European club (for example Napoli wanted him a few months ago) offering him more money but he’s looking at the bigger picture.

If he moved to a big European club now he’s probably not quite ready to make their first team....so his progression could stall.
He needs to be at a club where he’ll play every week at the highest level and be allowed to flourish without massive pressure.
Then in 4 years he can move to a much bigger club and make his millions.....suspect that’s his plan...a gradual progression career plan.

In 4 years time we may be that “much bigger club”..

If we sign this lad it will show how commited the Prince is to helping us improve and backing the gaffer. Our target at the start of the season was to stay up and although we aren't mathematically safe yet, we all know that there's no chance we are going down. So the Prince could easily refuse and say we don't need to spend big at this moment in time but he hasn't, he's allowing us spend 20 odd million quid on one of the most promising young talents in Europe. I'll be ecstatic if we can get this deal done.

Wtf are you on about ......

“ assume “ “ suspect “ ...

FFS...

Berge is arguably one of the stand out talents in European football at the moment. Head and shoulders above Liverpool's midfield when they played in the champions league.
If he was one of the standout talents in Europe he wouldn’t be signing for us.
If he does sign some folk are going to be expecting the next Messi at this rate.

If he was one of the “ stand out talents in European football “ there’s no way in this world ..or the next would we besigning him ..there would be maybe 40 clubs plus who would be in front of us in terms of budget etc to sign a “ stand out talent in Europe “ .....

He might be a young lad with promise ....as are hundreds of others ...just be a tad realistic ..
Why wouldn't we be signing him? Where's the hundreds of others being watched by teams like Napoli, playing for his country, playing in the champions league? Wheres the hundreds being labelled as part of the "golden generation" of footballers for his country? Where's the hundreds of others making Liverpool look distinctly average? Would you be happy if we were signing Messi? Or would you try and shit all over that one too?

You know what.... you're right!
Fuck football..its a fool's game. I really got my hopes up. I'm taking up pottery. :(

Me too! I can't stop talking about it... With my family and friends, at work, even last night on a date!... Yeah, explained to some poor bird how much of a coup this would be landing Sander Berge! Haha... Just saying it again now gets me overly excited!

Love to sign him or similar ..but to say we are signing one the “ standout talents in European football “ is fkin laughable pal ....

Are you on the wind up?

Do some google searches and you’ll realise why many fans can’t believe we might be getting him.
Many of Europe’s top clubs have been monitoring him. Napoli, Liverpool and Chelsea have recently shown interest.
It’s weird/ lucky that we are the only club tabling a bid. Andy Brassell and other European football experts say he’s a big talent with a big future in the game.

Wilder and Knill are getting a bit of a rep for polishing diamonds, both in the UK and Europe. For his development, for any young rising stars development, it might be seen as a useful step on the ladder to be under their tutelage. I have been texting furiously today and yesterday and I am getting so many positive things about our management team. They are fast becoming seen as a bit revolutionary. As an aside,
In my best Kevin Keegan voice, I would Love it, love it if we signed Grillitsch.

Reporter for Sky Italy seems to think Retsos is a goer, so looking a good chance of him coming.

That's the spirit

That's the spirit, even when we try to be ambitious still the same stick in the mud fans, can't we just for once get slightly excited of what could be happening at the lane or do we keep looking back!

Wanted by most top teams in the premier League also by a few in the Italian League. But sure, it's laughable. Sorry "pal" maybe we should stick to signing the dregs of the championship?

My only issue is our expectations.
If we do sign these players as expected we cannot expect to automatically qualify for Europa league next season. This is a slow process that we ya as fans need to not drive it away.

Not sure top European clubs all suddenly have a weird turn and find themselves down on their luck when one of the outstanding talents in Europe is available.
