Outgoing? SANDER BERGE ON WAY OUT ?

Hopefully the outstanding bill isn’t too big and we can reinvest some of that! Either that or Coulibaly will need to have a big 2nd half of the season

Only if a top replacement is viable exiting the jtw with a weaker squad would be pure banter.

Incredible how people are so blinded with Berge because of his price tag. Apparently its irrelevant that when he plays we have a better record that when he doesn't, but that doesn't matter because people think he looks slow when he runs. Funny how 90% of the time he outpaces defenders when he gets past them to the byline, but no, because he doesn't look good when he does it, he's crap. Let's sell him and get Oli Burke back because at least he looks faster.
Guy is more or less back to his best after injury and when he's at his best he's unplayable in the Championship. He's also one that can definitely handle the jump to the prem.
Your post sort is sums up why the debate rumbles on. When we were in the prem, our stats were terrible with Berge in the team, for a long period. They are better in the championship this season, partly because he was great at the start of the season, before he and a number if others got injured. He’s never unplayable throughout a match, but he does have bursts of being unplayable.

He’s constantly ranked by his price tag because people come up with falsehoods like him being unplayable.

When on his game, he’s a top championship footballer. He’s got some really good points, and some really obvious weak points. He’s far from a top premiership / European footballer, and far from being wank.

If we sell Sander for £20m & that keeps the longevity of the club trading in future transfer windows it makes sense.

I agree though going into the final bit of the season with a weaker squad when you’ve a 60% chance of promotion is ridiculous.

Sell now, pay off debt & get someone in before Wednesday

Our long term target replacement for Berge signed for Watford the other week. I'd imagine we'll now scramble around for a loan, which is throwing money away and then have to replace him in the summer

Don’t like the fact that we are selling a top player.

But if needed must;

Norwood, Doyle, McAtee, Ndiaye and McBurnie

Has more balance than

Norwood, Berge, McAtee, Ndiaye and McBurnie

Hopefully a loss that doesn’t hinder us as much as losing some other key players

Whilst far from the worst news the fact is that with so little time left in the window we are staring at the very real possibility of coming out of it weaker than we started it whilst our main rivals have strengthened….
That kind of shit counts double during the business end of the season.

What a sad state of affairs if this is true. I thought the prince had done ok, really disappointed if this happens. Most of the teams around us have strengthened their squads. Are we really so desperate for cash????
It would appear so yeah.

I think we might be surprised at the affairs in the club under princes tenure.

That said doesn't mean a new owner will be better or worse.

So we’re selling a key player when we can’t actually replace him? Or do we reckon we are using that money to lift the embargo?

Team sheet will be interesting this afternoon. Hopefully he will be in the team or on the bench. If he’s not in the squad at all then we will probably know.

I wouldn’t agree with throwing money away, we’re financially in a bad position so need to sell.

It’s a good sale at £20m plus add ons for a player that can begin talks with a foreign club this time next year and leave on a free.

We don’t want to waste a chunk of our budget on a player that might not be up to premier league standard. Get a really good championship loan player in now & get us over the line.

Look at Madine, Craine & Hogan. None of them were premiership quality but they got the job done

I reckon to lift embargo. Then I dont know. At a guess free transfers and loan still.

I'm not convinced N'Diaye is safe.

If I'm Ndiaye I'm thinking of calling Everton back given today's developments

I think N'Diaye is safe because both he and his agent want to look at their options in the summer and you can't force a player to move if he doesn't want to.

I also think that our finances are in a much worse state than many on here believe.

I don't want Sander to go either because I think he's a much better player than many on here would have us believe and as Hecky would say he's irreplaceable, but if the bottom line is that we need the money now then the long term financial security club is more important than waiting and going "all in" on promotion.

Hopefully we already have enough of a cushion to see us over the line.

Let's be honest, there are players we could get the levels of production he's given us this year and have plenty of change, we just need to get a replacement sorted immediately
