It surely would not take much of a bid to get him early or even get him on a pre-contract agreement. He is surely free to speak to other clubs anyway.

If it's only 200k gamble then we should go for it but then it is 200k McCabe would prefer to keep in his back pocket.
Don't think 200k would be a problem if Adkins does t fancy him then it's a no goer ,he must have other targets,.

Heard we are interested but unwilling to pay for him with his contract being up at the end of the season. Won't be surprised if someone comes in while we piss about as usual

Yes, that would make sense wouldn't it - because by signing him now with 6 months left on his contract he wouldn't automatically, immediately be worth more than any fee we paid would he?
And if we leave it until the summer we'll definitely be able to sign him because there obviously won't be as many clubs in for him when he's available for nothing.

Intelligent thinking from an intelligent club.

Recognising your best opportunities to sign quality players is for other clubs to do, not Sheffield United.

I heard some stories after the match from certain people about our transfer policy that left me soul destroyed. I don't want to get the people who told me in trouble so I'm not going to spell out what they said but if it's true then we really are being ran in the most unprofessional manner possible

A nod's as good as a wink to a blind man...ah well, there's always scouting on Football Manager...or football manager Jr....

My guess would be that they just appoint the manager and let them do what they want without checking anything they do or carrying out any due diligence.

The wages we're apparently paying Hammond and Sammon would go a long way towards proving the unprofessional, clueless approach.

Why on earth would we sign a player who is young, hungry, proven at this level and yet to make his money when at the end of the season we can sign a 32 yr old, slow, turns like an oil tanker, midfield waddler who we will pay 10k a week in wages?

Roy, Roy, Roy. It's always been expected that sources should be quoted when posting. But ffs not revealing what the rumour is is going a bit far m8 ;)

Its not really big news or anything. Just confirmed my fears of how shoddy things are at the very top

Is Morsy what we need right now....for me no.

Does he improve what have....probably not.

We need wingers, 2 a minimum. A talisman centreback, and a striker to backup Sharp as he can't do it all on his own. Thats a minimum!!

If I were being greedy, i'd want another centreback and a goalkeeper as well.

You're right we need more than Morsy but Morsy is exactly what we need right now, because the midfield is slow and lacklustre but Morsy would change all that. He'd add, bite, work-rate, box to box running and the odd goal (3 this season) to Coutts 0 for example. Then is we add a decent centre half I can see us making the play offs and although it wouldn't be amazing free flowing football we'd be able to win games like yesterday more easily as opposed to being vulnerable like we are at present. Who knows we might even sign a forward or a winger but Morsy is probably the one type of player we're really lacking right now.

We get out run and out played in midfield because the midfield are too slow to track the runners, it happens week after week, as does goals from the wings due to wingers cutting inside because we don't mark properly or even when we do we allow the opposition to cut inside.

We have a transfer policy?

What do we need wingers for? to sit on the bench or get put as sub in central midfield?

We already have wingers that aren't used properly and backup strikers (who don't play for us). Adkins doesn't seem concerned about centre backs even though it's been the main area to strengthen since the summer.

A major problem throughout the season is lack of moverment in central midfield, to say we don't need anything different there is astounding

Then if true Roy it is undeniably disgraceful that this is allowed to happen and those at the top should hang their heads in shame.

How can this shoddy running of a multi million pound turnover company be allowed to happen?

Kinell, Chessy wages approx £200k PER MONTH!
That must include directors and staff?

That wouldn't cover Hammond here!

Just shows what a laughing stock our transfer policy and scouting set up is. I imagine that some of clubs above us have similar size wage bills, whilst we are probably paying 3 times that!! Also, it proves that we don't have to be chucking millions about to get out of this league, like some fans seem to be expecting.

If we don't pay 200k for Morsy I will lose all faith in this football club.

FFS, it's like turning down the chance to buy a 500k property for 100k despite being able to afford it and knowing full well someone else will quickly snap it up if you don't. No semi competent buyer/developer would turn down such a blatant and rare opportunity, yet for our professional football club such braindead incompetence is second nature.

Signing Morsy wouldn't even be a case of speculating to accumulate. It would be a case of immediately gaining an asset worth more than what you've paid. And at a time when you need that asset the most for performance reasons.

Is this really complicated stuff, or something?

Wasn't there issues with the fax machine when David De Gea nearly moved to Real Madrid?

Like you say, surely clubs could scan the documents and e-mail them to the relevant parties?

SUFC scouting staff are having trouble finding where CezzyVagas is
