I wouldnt worry, we can go back in for him at January and then on deadline day say "Clubs just dont want to release their players at this time of the season "

I reckon the board are weighing up who they can sell next - Matt Done? Che Adams? - rather than doing something as outre as spending proper money to stop our slide. Austerity reigns at the Lane.

Sam Morsy from Chesterfield and Conor Hourihane from Barnsley are two players more or less on our doorstep who should be easily achievable if we had any ounce of ambition. They would improve our midfield ten fold but we don't tend to sign good young players from our division

Well if that does happen then that's me done with the club, fed up of being lied to constantly about bringing players in and then not doing it. No ambition what so ever

We need to change the bookies every season in League 1 they pick us as favorites to be promoted, every season they do we fail.

Trouble is, when our club has a few decent players we have to go up pretty sharpish. You only end up having them a season or 2 before they are noticed and stolen away from us. This is probably true of all recent outgoings and you are correct in that the Beard and matty could be next. This is why it's imperative that we go up THIS YEAR before we lose them. You cannot blame any player for wanting to move on and progress if the club remains static.
I do believe there is money there and we will see some shipped out - I just don't know who it will be but hopes it's soon.

Yes. Like Nathan Byrne, we could have signed him but for some strange reason chose not to. Kemar Roofe is a 'Byrne' like player that will go on to better things. Tom Eastman and Aaron Pierre are others.

I called it with Byrne and I'm calling it with these. I hope we sign one or two of them when the squad allows. Such a shame that our awful summer recruitment has meant there's a very good chance we'll miss out.
