Taking his quality out of the discussion, but as Brayford is into his last year of his contract... basically we'll get 500k for him, all of which goes to cardiff. We'd then have to stump up 400k on Morsy, we lose a 2million versatile and excellent player, then have to loan or use freeman who can play right back or right mid... I seriously see no logic to this.

Contract until end of 17/18 season

"Scorer for the Blades... number one hundred and fifty eight, SAM MORSY!"

After retiring:

"It has been announced that Sheffield United's shirt number one hundred and fifty eight has been retired in honour of Sam Morsy. A spokesman said fans will be looking at that team sheet where there's nobody at 158 and therefore never forget Sam."

If he does sign we should have new entrance music...

And if this has been suggested before I couldn't give a flyin #### cause I'm not checking

Can't believe I missed this one..but anything to keep this thread moving towards it's ultimate goal.
Come on Team s24su, we can do this!

Star Wars, Da Hool, Kasabian, plus most of the others. I will suck them all up, shrug and keep going.

The day we run out to Adele is the day I flounce for good.

Edit: unless it's "Skyfall", where I'll concede that the floating voice thing is odd and actually a bit more than quite good :)

Having consulted the Bible, (above) on this guy I`m decidedly underwhelmed and strongly feel there should be a fervent leave vote to swing this thread in favour of not signing him,but far more importantly giving a much needed boost to reaching 100 pages.

Try thinking about the title not the artist and music SBB, here's a few clues

This is the "Morsy" thread
84 pages long
1740 posts long
It's a "Rumours" thread
It's a "will he won't he" rumour
We were talking about a song for him
So when he runs out we play.....

Oh forget it was a muse, stick with Star Wars

We were. And it's a fun suggestion. None of which changes the fact that only anything by Phil Collins would be more likely than Adele to turn me against the club I love :)

Though "Skyfall" (more poetic than "meltdown") would suit us just about as well as Kasabian's "Club Foot" right now.

Hello! Breaching enemy lines somewhat, however I visit in peace! I was genuinely shocked to see the fervent interest in Sam Morsy here (although I assume not all 88 pages of this is exclusively talk about the little Egyptian!), so I thought I'd provide you guys the latest information we have in regards to the situation from the Wigan side of things, at least to the best of my knowledge!

Wigan have stocked up on midfielders as of late, with the signings of Alex Gilbey and Nick Powell pushing Morsy down the ranks, and with the potential incoming of Josh Vela from Bolton, Morsy could be found even more isolated. Despite this, Morsy seemingly wants to continue pushing for a squad spot, and is certainly not desperately looking for a way out of Wigan. However, Morsy hasn't even featured in the last two squad selections, but it appears as if this is not because Morsy is actively being shopped, but that he's just not been worthy of playing at the moment, more than likely because he's had his head turned by agent talk and interest from other teams.

There was information from a 'Sky Source' claiming Morsy was off to Scunthorpe. I'm fairly sure this is rubbish, and any potential interest from Scunthorpe was turned down by Morsy, since it seems he's only willing to leave if a more grand offer comes in.

In short, there's certainly still a chance Morsy comes to you guys, so I wouldn't completely count out the chances of it happening as some of you here have seemingly done.

Hi WiganFan,

In your honest opinion, how do you rate Morsy?

What are his strengths and weaknesses, and would you be happy to be rid of him, having seen him play in a Wigan shirt?

Do you think he's a good player?

What's it like to piss a league? - I've forgotten :(

Hi WiganFan,

Do you think he's a good player?

There was a lot of pressure on him to succeed and immediately fit into a winning side when signed in January, something he struggled to deal with initially, but improved as the season went on. At League One level, he's certainly a quality addition to any squad, doesn't say much or complain and just grafts for his team. At championship level, based on Caldwell's team selections, he hasn't quite cut it, but then again hasn't really been given too much of a chance to prove himself.

Strengths wise, Morsy's a determined character, calm and composed on the ball, and arguably his best trait is winning back the ball and absorbing pressure when you're leading by the odd goal at the end of the game. He doesn't advance forward all too often, so don't expect him to fill in an attacking midfield role, but he has a strike on him if forced to shoot!

In terms of weaknesses, Morsy can be prone to turnover of possession on occasion, and is easily frustrated if things aren't going his way, not necessarily with his teammates, but himself, which can lead to reckless tackles that put the team in a worse position. Nearly kicked my seat in at Millwall when Morsy received two yellow cards inside the first 35 minutes for two rather pointless and needless tackles, which saw him sent off and only a stellar defensive effort from then on secured a point.

Overall, he's a refined and determined player that'll provide a spark of quality to any League One side, that's for sure.

Is your seat made of something more expensive than plastic, Wiggers?
I prefer standing, anyway
