There was a lot of pressure on him to succeed and immediately fit into a winning side when signed in January, something he struggled to deal with initially, but improved as the season went on. At League One level, he's certainly a quality addition to any squad, doesn't say much or complain and just grafts for his team. At championship level, based on Caldwell's team selections, he hasn't quite cut it, but then again hasn't really been given too much of a chance to prove himself.
Strengths wise, Morsy's a determined character, calm and composed on the ball, and arguably his best trait is winning back the ball and absorbing pressure when you're leading by the odd goal at the end of the game. He doesn't advance forward all too often, so don't expect him to fill in an attacking midfield role, but he has a strike on him if forced to shoot!
In terms of weaknesses, Morsy can be prone to turnover of possession on occasion, and is easily frustrated if things aren't going his way, not necessarily with his teammates, but himself, which can lead to reckless tackles that put the team in a worse position. Nearly kicked my seat in at Millwall when Morsy received two yellow cards inside the first 35 minutes for two rather pointless and needless tackles, which saw him sent off and only a stellar defensive effort from then on secured a point.
Overall, he's a refined and determined player that'll provide a spark of quality to any League One side, that's for sure.
