You can keep your ambition, spending money on better quality players, improving the team and moving up the league - I'd much rather we kept a tight ship. And how many other clubs have a hotel?

He said there was money in the pot already and we were in the running for Grant Ward, who went for 700k.
You have interpreted that to mean we have 350k to spend and I have called the manager a liar

Interesting

It would be a massive kick in the bollocks to CW if he did want him and we have been outbid by Scunny after selling Che! Surely no player would choose Scunny over the blades given the choice??
maybe he would cos we fucked him off last time when he wanted to play for us

Surely to fucking Christ we aren't gunna let this happen?! We're crying out for that combative box to box midfielder, bash just isn't up to it. Least of all not to that shower of fucking shit!

Just heard from a mate who works at the Lane, coaching department, and he says we're not in for Morsy - Wilder is targeting what he considers better targets.

The only way I think we could get better is with a loan signing. And I'd much prefer a permanent signing in a key spine position.

On the Adams thread, it was suggested that if Adams was really that good then it wouldn't have just been Birmingham after him – better clubs would have been too.

If Morsy goes to Scunthorpe, will it be a sign that he isn't quite as good then too? The way he's been talked about on here, every club in the top half would surely be mad to pass up the chance to bring in Maestro Morsy?

I think Chesterfield >> Wigan >>> Scunthorpe tells it's own story,

clearly either Wigan dont think he can hack it in the championship or he is a bad influence...

and many scouts think the same as surely for a fee that Scunny can afford, you can get this player... so as you say... if he was that good... where are the likes of Milwall, Walsall, Bury, etc... or even some low end Champ sides, like Rotherham or Barnsley...

sounds like we were never interested in him and lazy journalists (or canny agents) stirring the pot to try and get a move to line their ownn pockets...

let what happen ? Sign a player that (apparently) Wilder doesn't want . He isn't going to sign a player because some fans (who have probably only seen him play a maximum of twice) says he should.

Don't understand the hysterics on here about this guy

I'm happy to trust Wilder on this. He's pretty much known what's needed from day one. There's obviously better targets and other priorities than Morsy. He just needs time and I'm sure it'll all come together before the window shuts.

There's nowt we can do but sit, wait and have a bit of patience.

You said we haven't got 350k to spend where as wilder says we were in for a player at around 700k, so I am taking you don't believe him. Simples

Weasel the self proclaimed ITKer sez 4 in this week, is one of em Morsy?

Maybe Morsy thinks he's signing for us and was told your off to sufc.

No, i said 4 in before the end of the transfer window not the end of the week. Should still ne movement inwards this week. Just be patient.

Just because we've got a fresh wad of cash

Just wondering if we might be due a bit more, seen a couple of rumours of Jags to SAFC. Did we have a sell on clause when we sold him or am I being a silly?

Very much hope so.

Did we have one for Kyle Naughton and if so where's the money gone from his move to Swansea? Brussels probably.

I highly doubt we do, he had a minimum fee release clause which Everton met (£4m) to make the deal go through.

Just heard from a mate who is a mate of your mate, and who also works at the Lane, and he says this is bollox.

did Wilder say we bid 700k for him if so I apologise

If he didn't then what in God's name are you on about ?

Wigan have had half a season and a pre-season to see Morsy up close, and seemingly already want rid. Perhaps the environment simplyisn't right for the player, but it could be that he's just not very good.

The Hammond signing has really made me reassess fan reports of players and the hysteria surrounding some. I'd got sucked into the argument this time last year that Hammond was just what we needed based on the positivity on him prior to his signing (despite not having seen him play). I have seen Morsy play, as recent as last season, but barely noticed him. I don't really get why so many feel he should be our top target.
