Hi Danny. I've missed the news over the last few days cos been away. Have we actually bid for Morsy (or has CW said we would like him), or is it rumour - hence in this section? Hoping it's just a rumour and we've not actually been out done by Scunny.

The word on the street is we offered 200k a couple of weeks ago. They wanted £350k. One things for sure, Tufty and Paul Mitchell will have known about this Scunthorpe thing before any rumour site or Sky Sports...

The issue is we continually sell our better players and seem unprepared to bid the going rate for quality players - hence 6 years and counting in L1.
 
Didn't the very same twitter sources ( Sky and Transfer Center Live) say that we had agreed a fee a few weeks back before the player scuppered the move?

Who haven't we offered the going rate for ? Any club goes in lower than they want to pay then negotiates. Happens at all levels.

Whilst we are in this league we will always have to sell our better players to survive and to make transfer offers. Not happy about it myself but what else is going to fund the club over and above the losses

MK Dons didn't want to sell to a rival. If they had stayed up we would have got him. Not exactly the club's fault is it. And news about the bid initially came from the MKD end not ours as I recall. As yet there has been no comment on Morsy by us
 
We HAVE to be in for him, he would improve us remarkably. A middle two of Fleck and Morsy would be superb.
 
Things take different turns, we are just going to have to be patient.

Nobody knew we were trying for Grant Ward at Spurs before he joined Ipswich. What we do know is that we have been speaking to Spurs so maybe the availability of another youngster was made known to us.

Nothing has changed since Saturday apart from we have lost a sub. Let the phone calls happen and let's see what drops to us.

Inclined to agree with you B56, but it's the Blades we're talking about and nowt surprises me these days where we are concerned

I stand by my earlier post and also if true what CW said to the fan about sticking a fiver on him signing makes me think we are in the running, but who knows?
 
It would be a massive kick in the bollocks to CW if he did want him and we have been outbid by Scunny after selling Che! Surely no player would choose Scunny over the blades given the choice??

Maybe we are not in for him at all - it would make for a very small midfield...
