Sam Ellis - What does he do ?

Lord I know Yorkshiremen love to grumble and predict failure, but it seems to me you have no clue what Ellis does so make up your nonsense to prove you are right. I though Yorkshiremen had more nouse than that. If games were only as easy to predict as your rumblings I'd be top of the Prediction Table.

Personally I enjoy watching the Blades, great team, well put together in a tough high-pressure league where 'take no prisoners' is often the standard. They have been consistently in the top part of the Championship in the last half dozens years/times they have been in the league; and I note we are still in it (CCC). So, hope for better things, understand it's a fine line between success and failure and there is no magic formula (except in some people's mind). I'm proud of our club's tradition and how we conduct and manage our business. None of which means that players don't mess up or coaches don't get it wrong or transfers don't go bums up. Overall we are no better or worse than the teams in the bottom half of the Premiership - we are just lacking their funds at the moment.

Be a critic if you will but if you can't also give credit then it really does not count for much.

Absolute Rubbish
You cannot be seriously saying that Bolton, Wigan, Portsmouth, Stoke, Burnley, Wolves, Birmingham City, Hull City, are generating any more cash than we are except perhaps the PL TV money. We get better crowds than those teams, pay far less in Wages and Transfer fees etc.
I agree with a lot of your comments regarding tough league, high achievers etc etc but the difference between those clubs in the lower half of the PL and SUFC is ambition - they want to be competing with the best not to be comfortable with the also rans
You guys who bleat on about top 6 CCC, Blackwell good record blah, blah, blah
In truth Robson failed we hired Blackwell because he was a cheap option and would do the things the chairman wanted and now he has reduced the squad to a skeleton relying on loan players and out of contract players to get us from match to match.
I have far morer respect for the likes of Dave Whelan, who according to the rich list is no better off than McCabe yet Wigan stay in the PL year in year out with meagre attendances.
I can't imagine any of those mention club getting rid of their best striker in the January Transfer Window in case they failed next season.
I get frustrated with the lack of ambition by the club and yet all we get is how well the club is run-don't make me laugh:mad:

As usual you exaggerate in order to win your point. Your rubbish - where do I say all is well - that's just a stupid riposte to someone who sees strength in what we are doing and yes it may mean we continue as a CCC team but it's not about ambition just because Mcabe wont go broke to take a chance. Anyway, according to you it's not necessary to spend in order to succeed. Maybe you accept there is a small margin between success and failure (i.e., not getting promotion). Perhaps you would rather we were Doncaster or Barnsley having a great relegation battle each year. Me I'd rather try for the top and don't give up after a few games. I bleat about the top six cause I know that as long as we are there we have a shot. Unlike you I'm not a quitter, I don't give up on my team or my club. SORRY YOU CAN"T ACCEPT A FAN WHO WANTS TO SUPPORT HIS CLUB AND LOOK FOR THE POSITIVES INSTEAD OF SHOWING MY BRILLIANCE BY MAKING ALL THE RIGHT CHOICES _ AFTER THE EVENT.

In reply I don't give up on my team and certainly I am no quitter - I have been watching the Blades for over 50 years and believe for a certain period of that time we have under achieved.
I like many have been let down in three play off finals, six semi finals relegated on the last day numerous times, Walsall, Boxing Day, etc etc but also had many good days Darlington, Leicester, QPR, Liverpool, Leeds etc etc
But what I am trying to say is that currently we as a club are under achieving and many reasons are self inflicted.
Currently we have a wafer thin squad, six loans players and looming injuries and suspensions, little confidence and all we hear is rhetoric from the management.
Is it aiming too high to be on par to the mighty football giants of Hull City, Stoke City, Birmingham City, Portsmouth, Bolton Wanderers, Wolves, Burnley, Wigan etc
I firmly believe that Mr McCabe lacks either the ambition or the drive to take United to the top. When promoted he talked about Europe in five years - three years on we are further away from any European dream - he has appointed Blackwell to do a job - he is doing it to the best of his ability - unfortunately it is just a wee bit short of what is required.
I do not rubbish ambition but i certainly question apathy and acceptance of being second tier because we are near the top of second tier. Once you accept second best the top level is always going to be out of reach

Personally I think we are on par with those PL clubs you name - and as some of them are built on very shakey financial foundations I expect we will be far above them in the near future.

In one sense the only difference between us and those clubs is that we got a crap ref who bottled it at Wembley. McC is right when he says we are a PL club in waiting - we just need a bit of luck at the right times. I really believe that we are that close.

I get frustrated by poor performances, and disappointed by injuries - but if I take the long term view (decent academy, international links, fund generating hotels and gyms etc) then surely we are well set for a good future. I'd rather be a Blade than a Barcode or a Pompey fan!!

BB - you seem to have thoughts about the business side of the Club - do you know of any reason why things could turn bad??
