Sale of the Century?

In the Premiership he didn't do enough to help himself, barely touched the ball and overall was poor. That season was obviously an odd one for many reasons so a little unfair to judge him too harshly, and there was a knock on effect confidence-wise going in to this season. I still believe he's shown enough in his last few appearances (before the unfortunate injury) to suggest he'll eventually justify his transfer fee and will hopefully be our first choice striker for years to come.
I don’t think he came anywhere near suggesting he’ll be out first choice strike for years to come, unless those years are average at best.

If you removed the fee, we’d think he was nothing more than a young prospect.

But let’s both hope you’re right.

Championship clubs are a money pit. Especially clubs in the midlands and the north. The Americans are generally smart and bought clubs with high revenue like Man Utd and Liverpool. Even at 100 million I wouldn't buy a medium sized club in the north or midlands, as a business decision. Blackburn, Bolton, Wednesday, Reading, Derby, Sunderland, Wigan, Portsmouth etc etc. Generally a tale of woe for those who wanted a return on their money.

Yes. Thrice so.

One of those girls at school who suddenly, one day, becomes a fucking fixation in your mind and is 100% fuckable.

Except she is fucking someone in the top six of the PL, meanwhile you are mid table in the Conference.

You missed that great southern club Burnley owed by a yank .

We didn't buy a "dud", we just paid way to much for a young lad.
“Dud” was meant in terms of the fee paid though. I also think he’ll be our best striker very soon. I’m not sure he’ll be good enough for a promotion chasing team, and definitely not premier league quality for some time, if ever. But let’s hope so.

I’m sure plenty have. I’m sure 100x more haven’t.
So if we get the right one we are fine.
The problem with any sale is that the owner is more likely to get the best deal for him/her than for the club, but sometimes both are achieved.
I remember Man City in Division 3 ( at least I think I do !)
