Too busy pretending to work to get myself down there!
A noble art indeed. No one carries a clipboard from A to B and back again like I do.

Did anyone go? Thoughts?
It was too early for me to get after work, also interested to know if anyone else went.
This is interesting. I presume this means we now have ST holders in the BL upper? I might be wrong, but I thought that previously there were no STs in there. It’s a pretty good view as you say, so I wonder whether next summer people from other parts of the ground might be allowed to move their STs up there? Or will that possibility only be for the safe standing refugees? If you have your seats in the now safe standing area and go with your young 'uns, they have no chance of seeing the game, you will have to move elsewhere. I have moved to Bramall Lane Upper. Great view. Over 2k seats available, I am sure you can take the young uns in that stand. Of course you can go to the other stands or towards the front of the Kop. This safe standing area is just a long metal bar just put in front of the seat in front, in other words, done on the cheap, like when they changed the Kop to seats. It needs rebuilding, but don't hold your breath waiting.

Made to fit in with the rest of the KopAre they eventually going to paint the bars red? As currently that looks rather cheap and nasty.
I think you’ve been able to buy ST there for a while, for whatever reasons it’s just not as popular despite having one of the best views of the pitch. This is interesting. I don’t believe so. A good number of clubs go with the steel look, most that have brought it in the past couple of years have done this. In Germany it’s most common for them to be left unpainted. Where they have been painted there have been issues with the quality – they look great on Day 1, but this below as an example from the Anfield Road end at Liverpool highlights they don’t look great a couple of years on. Repainting regularly probably isn’t something the club want to get into. Are they eventually going to paint the bars red? As currently that looks rather cheap and nasty.
Perfect opportunity to go with the bright orange away kit colour of circa 2004 or the bright green one of 2007View attachment 221105
Seems to be a bit of a trip hazard. What else can we moan about? They haven't painted them red?
I doesn’t matter now that the club could have handled this better, its been done, and we now have to manage the situation as best we can.
Sheffield United being their usual selves are determined to find a £10 solution to a 50p problem, but I came up with this by thinking about it for about 30 seconds.
With a few tweaks it really is that simple.
- All supporters (ST) who are in the standing area who want to sit, temporally move them to the BLUT.
- All supporters (ST) who want to stand, fill up the empty seats that have been vacated in the standing area.
- All supporters who were moved to the BLUT can now move to the seats vacated by supporters moving to the standing area.
Only the Corner is ST not the 3 other blocks (BU1-3 on ticket pages). Cracking view from my current corner ST but I’d definitely move more centrally if they were available as ST.I think you’ve been able to buy ST there for a while, for whatever reasons it’s just not as popular despite having one of the best views of the pitch.
Only Westfield corner is season tickets ,really it should be another option for families as there's very little left in john streetRelish.
I dont have a season ticket now. I was on the Kop. But I have decided to move to Bramall Lane Upper. I got fed up with not being able to see the pitch because of people standing up in front of me. I never complained. Fans can do what they want. I am not sure if anyone in Bramall Lane Upper has a season ticket. However, I recommend you get in touch with the ticket office and ask if you and your children have a season ticket in the safe standing area. Are you allowed to swap and go to Bramall Lane upper stand? I hope you can at no extra charge.
Thanks for this - my misunderstanding. I thought you’d moved your ST to BLUT.Relish.

Better than being told to siddarn in a seat you can't fit into because you're not a fucking hobbit.Wow, literally cannot wait to lean on a metal bar for 90 odd minutes. Brilliant! FFS![]()
Wouldn't it be easier to get in and out if everyone is stood already?I’ve been down today also to check out our new seats. Moved from the standing area but went up to have a look. Good look getting in and out during the game!
No! There was no room as it was. Now your penned in by 2 rails and posts.Wouldn't it be easier to get in and out if everyone is stood already?
How tall are you like 7ft or something?Better than being told to siddarn in a seat you can't fit into because you're not a fucking hobbit.
If you're over 6ft on the kop it's a very uncomfortable experience if you have to sit.How tall are you like 7ft or something?
The person I sit next to is over 6ft and doesn't seem to have a problemIf you're over 6ft on the kop it's a very uncomfortable experience if you have to sit.
I genuinely can't sit with my back against the seat and not have my knees shredded by the seat in front. Its a terrace wirh seats bolted on. It's not fit for purpose. The person I sit next to is over 6ft and doesn't seem to have a problem![]()

The answer is a bit in the middle. The underlying terrace remains from the previous Kop, but as I understand it they poured cement on to fill in every second step to create rows for seating, rather than standing. You can see the work for that on this photo – there are wooden boards braced up against the risers of some terrace steps in order to pour cement onto the step behind the boards up to the level of the next step, i.e. to turn two steps of c. 325mm depth into one of c. 650mm depth. It’s one of the reasons why there’s a bit of variation on the Kop depending on which row you sit (or now stand) on.It’s a terrace wirh seats bolted on. It's not fit for purpose.
The work has been done and it's all open for the Charlton game but I'm thinking they will be still people moving their seats and what not . So if think spare ones will go on sale closer to the game .but with our ticket office I'm not sureI guess SUFC still haven't finalised the safe standing area - blocks KB1-KB4 are still greyed-out for the Charlton game.
It’s finished on the Kop, they are just completing the away section now – the club are still going through the ticket moves. Moving STHs in is a problem if the area is open for individual sales, so has been locked for that reason. MM the only row in those sections unaffected.I guess SUFC still haven't finalised the safe standing area - blocks KB1-KB4 are still greyed-out for the Charlton game.
