Both Lowe and RND are injured often, no way we're going keep both?

RND is the one I'd keep.
Absolutely. Up until his injury last year he was our best and most consistent performer. Ndiaye did well but took a while to get going as he was hot one game, meh the next. Once he did get going he was unstoppable. In the first two months Norwood and Norrington-Davies were our two best players, and that's me praising Norwood.

I thought he did fine yesterday.

And he's not even close to being one of our worst ever players. He's probably not even one of the worst 5 left-backs we've had recently (off the top of my head - Andy Taylor, Calamity Jay, Jordan Stewart, Luke Thomas, Marcus Williams and Chris Hussey were all worse).
Forgot about Chris Hussey, he only played a few games before we went and signed Daniel Lafferty instead.

Max Lowe has been with us for 4 seasons. One of those he was on loan at Forest.

In the other 3 seasons, he has managed to feature in 43 out of 121 games. About one in three. He's usually injured.

He has played in 9 of 37 league games this season. He has only started 3 times. He has played one full game. One (at Chelsea in December).

He's played twice in August, 5 times in December, once in February and once in May.

He cannot be relied on from a fitness perspective above all else. if we take his option up/renew we want our heads examining.

In any event, as Revo Jr says, have you ever come out of the ground and said "Max Lowe was really good today!". No, you haven't, because he's never really good. He's average, mediocre or downright poor.

Same goes for RND. I know it's not a popular position to take, but with limited resources we should not be re-signing players who are never fit. We have several under contract already, and will be making this mistake with Osborn (who is injured again, of course).

Think he was a 6-7 out of 10 in every game he played last season. A competent LWB, certainly no worse than somebody like Martin Crainie who still gets lauded on here.

Problem is he isn’t available for selection 60-70% of games. We can’t persist with any player with that kind of injury record unless they have the kind of quality to win a game on their own.

Wilder’s initial success was built on having roughly the same set of players available for selection every week to compensate for a lack of squad depth - we need that as a minimum next season given the funds we have and the number of outgoings.

And you can add in he really doesn’t want to be here anyway.

Arthur Lowe aka Calamity Jane far too may times, I anticipate has a one year option as Bogle and all Wilders other signings.
Wilder appointment was and is a disaster and must be mitigated for any sort of future recovery.
He HAS the physique to be a player. He needs a cross between coaching and a kick up the arse when attacking (or not as is usually the case)
He was excellent against Sterling at Chelsea first half.
He couldn't cope when ex Man City lad was out there second half cutting inside and was not helped by our managers total inability to react to Pocc changes.
Would you want him to be kept for one year and control costs or another Growbag/Garbage or whatever signed destroying the team and budget for three years? The former for me.

I think Lowe is a perfect back up player to have in the squad, unlikely to do anything really wrong, not good enough to fight for a starting 11 spot. Problem is, can he stay fit because your back up needs to be available...

Our decision on RND will determine what we do with Lowe. We won't be going out to try and find 2 LBs

i think lowe will be released along with larrouchi rnd is obviously our number 1 choice for lwb if we can keep him fit and osborn is good enough at championship level to be his back up

No point keeping either of them. RND will likely never kick a ball in anger again at the top level, recent history has taught us you don't tend to come back from injury records like that.

As rev alludes to if we resign him we need our heads examined, also Osborn.

At least this thread is here to refer to when folk start saying "isn't hindsight wonderfu"

If Wilder and the club is serious they need to boot out all the unfit players, we are a football club, not an extension of the NHS.

A couple of the young ones will do well but wholesale changes are afoot, fresh faces all round , hopefully picked on fabulous fitness stats, ie available to stay in a team longer than a few games at a time, its probably better having 11 fit good players that play as a unit reguarly than very good players sat in the treatment room,
sell what we can for whatever we can get, and polish rough diamonds, as Wilder can do, easy peasy

Couldn't agree more. We need our heads examining if we take up the option on Lowe's contract. He is constantly injured, poor to average when he is fit enough to fit in his mandatory run of 2 games before we gets injured again in the most ridiculous fashion (stood on a water sprinkler is a new one) and then to top it off, will be on a decent wedge compared to a number of his teammates. Enough of the 'well we need some to make up the numbers'. That is only valid if the player or players in question can be relied upon to at least be available for 50% of the fixtures in a season. Lowe has consistently (whilst hes been at the Lane anyway) proven that he can't be relied upon due to fitness issues. Absolutely get rid and use the wages saved on a player/players who will be available. Whoever picks up Lowe if we move him on, might think they have a player for about 5 games, then the bizarre injuries will kick in...
