Best Goalkeeper this season and why?
Jamal Blackman - Had my doubts at the start of the season, always preferred more experienced keepers, and his kicking was woeful. But he has become a huge player for us (in more ways than one). He looks confident coming for crosses; I expect him to get the ball almost every time it is crossed into the box. Some of the saves have been outstanding, and we'd be a lot worse off without him.
Best Defender this season and why?
Chris Basham - It could be any one of 3 for me. Basham, Stearman or O'Connell. I'm going to go with Basham. He looks like a daddy long legs when he runs, but the energy he has to get up and down the pitch and surprise defenders with a Zidane Roulette is amazing. He keeps improving season on season for us. He works well in this trio in this formation. If we switch to a back 4 permanently though I feel he would be the one to miss out eventually.
Best Midfielder this season and why?
John Fleck - through all the chopping and changing of the midfield since we sadly lost Paul Coutts in battle, Fleck has had to adapt his game and now he runs the show. Duffy is a contender for his effectiveness, we look a different team without him, but missing Fleck has a more detrimental effect on the team. Not afraid to take one for the team when defending, although we could do without losing him to suspension every 6 weeks or so!
Best Striker this season and why?
Leon Clarke - yes the goals aren't flowing like early season, but he has a very positive effect on the team in general. He helps us defend from the front, he doesn't give the opposition defenders a moment of peace. He chases them down until they inevitably boot it up field and gives us a better chance of turning defence into attack. His goals at the start of the season are the reason we are still in with a (tiny) chance of finishing in the top 6. But he's lazy apparently...

Most improved player and why?
Jamal Blackman - this could have gone to Stearman, but Jamal Blackman scared the life out of me at the start of the year. Just looking at the difference in his kicking alone shows the work he's putting in to improve. Now I dread seeing him out of the starting XI. If he is affordable, he would be my first summer signing.
Best result/match this season and why?
Sheffield Wednesday 2-4 Sheffield United - duh. This match gave the whole club a "massive" boost, and gave us that extra spring in our step in the following months (up to the Burton game). Never mind shutting up most of my Wendy mates
Worst result/match this season and why?
Barnsley Away - the first half was absolutely terrible. Awful. With what was at stake at this time of the season, where a win puts us in touching distance of the playoffs, to put in a performance like that first half is unforgivable. I know Barnsley are scrapping for their lives, but we went ahead and to not hold that lead, and even lose the damn game was stupid. We win that game and we put the pressure on everyone above and just below us. I came away from that game gutted, moreso than at pretty much anytime since Southend at the start of last season.
Best match for atmosphere this season (home or away) and why?
I've got a memory like a sieve, and a habit of drinking 4 or 5 pints before a match, so it all gets fuzzy. Leeds away was a fun atmosphere though.
Best away following (at the Lane) this season and why?
Probably Millwall really (take into account the memory problems above). They made some racket, but it may be because I sat closer to the away end in the last match
