Would be a great signing. Not bothered about Maitland Niles as much.
 
Niles is 100% staying in London.
He'll go to West Ham or someone.

Manning suits us to the ground. Need him snapping up.
 
Just goes to Southampton doesn’t he. Easy and they’ll probably offer more in wages
 
Fingers crossed we can get him.

Given our ominously low budget (Apparently) any sound free signings we really need to be all over.

You would think that will be a factor for sure, but depends if the lad wants a crack at the Premier League, with how football is he might not get another....

Wages wise, if our budget for wages is reasonably high, (which appears to be the suggestion with less paid for fees), we would hopefully be able to compete with Soton.

And he'd avoid working for Russell Martin again who is obviously a full-weighter!

This could easily be his only chance of playing in the Prem.

I'll be shocked if we've not offered him a strong deal. He's the most obvious transfer target in the history of transfer targets.

To be fair to Manning, he's hardly a player that has followed Martin around everywhere.

He's had him for a little while and done nothing for his career. Playing out from the back to nothing and finishing nowhere in the league.

I'm amazed he even got the Saints job.

Absolute blagger, who some pundits seem to be enamered with.

Agree - it was an odd choice by the decision makers at Saints, especially after the Nathan Jones debacle

I bet the fans of Luton, Leeds, Southampton and numerous others think he’s an obvious target for them too.
 

If he does go to Soton we should try hard to get Romain Perraud from them, loan might be possible

It's 2 prem ones yeah, and 1 from one club, but I'm not sure on the loan limits either.

They rate him but I don't think they're gutted.
He'd be an upgrade on Lowe but I personally don't think he's better than RND at his prime.

It's a no brainer signing on a free though.
Would sell Lowe (final year of his deal) to clear room and bring a bit of extra budget in.

Wasn't it the FANS player of the year award they won?
I think they might have been resigned to losing him as well for over a year, that might play a part.
He just seems such a 'us' type signing, and I mean that in a good way.

But, I do agree, if we can get RND back from where he left off, it's still his position to lose.
 
This seems like a really obvious one. Probably the best LWB in the Championship last season and the data backs it up. Can cover a number of other positions.
