Because Coutts got loads of them?

Why not look up the stats. Zero this season, was it 3 last season?

I know, that doesn't make him a bad player but we need goals assistors not careful players on the half way line. Believe me.

We were doing very well and creating plenty of chances with Coutts in the team being 'careful on the half way line'. Believe me.

As always it's a sum of the parts and Fleck has seemed a bit lost ( and suspended) since Coutts got injured.

I really believe that Duffy is very good in his role at 'No.10'. Like Wilder I think he gets tired within 90 minutes and even more when he plays 3 games in 7 days. I also think he tends to over elaborate and rarely has a shot on goal. I think we can do better than Duffy and that he is not the real deal to take us forward over the next 2/3 years. Wilder knows Holmes inside out and knows he can do better. As a team we have to score similar goals to those against us at this level and never saw last season. We can also keep it much simpler and dare I say Sharp would benefit if we did.

I've played as striker with a fussy midfielder for 2 years, it's agony when you make runs and it only comes now and again. We should be far more incisive and make more of our dominance.

James shield stated 2 parties were still interested in completing the deal and he is much more likely to have inside info than most speculators. So let's see, but it's gonna be late this month, if at all, I hope it gets done but I'm less bothered as lunny is doing a job but we do need back up. I'm to happy bring whiteman back if the back up is mainly gonna be on the bench. Especially if this gives us money to spend elsewhere (A big signing Duffys long term replacement or another marquee striker)

Don't bother. It's just the same comments repeated ad infinitum. The only thing that's changed is that Lundy is now looking the part so maybe Wilder is a bit less desperate to do a deal than he was a few weeks ago. If Leonard wants to play for us, he'll continue to refuse a new contract and tell the club he's off in the summer. If he'd rather go to Millwall, fine, we want ambitious players, not ones that chose the easy option of staying local.

Cheers BushBlade thought it might be the case, I have to say Lundstram is looking more the part match by match very impressive.

CW says if deal not agreed by early next week hes moving on. Whether that means we will try and sign him for free in the summer or completely forget him I don't know.

Part of me would love us to walk away and find someone else.

Then Southend might then be so desperate that they sell him to Millwall for £250K or they keep him and get nought.

Let’s be honest here, there’s no way they will make the playoffs.
The fact that CW is still openly chasing him suggests he’s spoken to Leonard and/or his agent and he’s keen on a move to SU.

Do you know that for a fact? We can't be that far apart if we have (apparently) bid 750k in January for a League One midfielder.

Logic dictates that it is a fact.

You're arguing that we're haggling over £50k and yet you don't even know how much we have offered or whether Southend have actually stated their price. It's perfectly reasonable that they've just said he isn't for sale as they need him for their relegation battle.

Southend are 4 points from the relegation zone, 3 if Wimbledon get something from their game in hand.

They lose £1.5M to £2M each season so they’d be silly to turn down this money and give Brown an opportunity to revamp a failing side.

I’d take the offer from the table on Monday and see if they respond before the next League game. If they don’t they’ll want to wait until the last day or accept they get nothing and he leaves for free in June.

Either way we move on to other targets.

Southend have another midfielder Josh Wright out with a hamstring now,so can't see them letting Leonard go without getting cover in...that would make them 2 light in that area...Maybe the recall of Whiteman could see him going the other way as part of the deal...mighr have to throw in a new weave for Ron maybe.

And a subscription to 'Syrup Weekly', just to sweeten the deal?
