...for the new season. This close season seems to have gone on for ever. The signings have been absolutely spot on in my opinion and, if Sky Sport is to be believed this morning, looks like McBurnie is in also the bag. Bloody brilliant.

Half way through last season, I honestly didn’t fancy the Prem because I still bear the scars of watching Warnock’s self indulgent, narcissistic and completely inept ‘campaign’. A very unedifying exercise in a manager deciding that away games were simply a good opportunity to crawl around the back passages of some of football’s elite grounds and media celebrities.

Don’t know why I worried, This is Wilder and Knill and a resurgent Blades with a new culture that is in complete synergy with its fan base. We may get relegated (I actually don’t think we will) but not without a fight and, at last, some proper sensible investment from a club that now has a future and is positioning itself to sustain us as a power to be reckoned with for years to come.

Who could have imagined three years ago when we were a "Pub Team" that the Blades would be spending this amount of money on the quality players that we are now signing? We might just be entering the most exciting period for supporting the club for 50 years. Let's hope we get it right this time.

Hulse was a top signing until his injury. Agree with Stead and Killgallon, both good signings. I'll throw in Kazim-Richards as a bargain too for 150k, did great in Turkey and Holland.

Warnock wasted some money that season though. Even his free transfers were a waste ... Seck, Li Tie, Paul Gerrard and there was another one whose name I forget ... I don't think they kicked a ball between them.

I’m getting a bit tired of the revisionism on here. No one was calling Warnock shit when we beat Arsenal (well Pinchy probably was).

I don't think Warnock was shit at all. His signings were bad. But, were very unlucky to go down in the Prem. Even the West Ham thing aside, a fair number of the games we lost could have gone our way if we got the decision or the opponent didn't get dodgy penalties.

He did a good job, he was very unlucky. But, his signings were poor. When Hulse got injured, none of the strikers he signed could step up to replace him.

Warnock’s legacy was years in the wilderness for the Blades. Wilder’s legacy is already looking like a building team that can not only survive a relegation but one that will remain a strong contender to bounce straight back if it does. That’s class and needs to be recognised against past experience.

He had a lot of bad luck, we just needed one more win. And there were a few matches we would have won if decisions went our way.

Fathi went on to play a further 90+ games for Egypt and won 2 African Nations Cup with them, he was very decent.
