This could be an epic finish to the season!!.Looking at the fixtures coming up for the teams involved,I would say there are 3 places up for grabs as Derby are being caught so all to play for.Wilder will be rubbing his hands with excitement at the prospect of this opportunity .we're not expected to do it which makes us a dangerous team.
Bring it on !!
Pigs will have to be looking over there shoulder as they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
Remember this from 1990 !!
Blades up ! Owls down !!!!

. Totally agree. We could be a dangerous team to play. 1990 will always be a favourite memory. The pigs are now in a dogfight but unfortunately can see them staying up because the teams below are so poor!!. UTB

Like Burton?

I'm sticking with 2 places to play for (the ones occupied by Bristol C and Derby) and still think as low as Millwall (who'd have thought) are in a shout for it.

think is only those down to 9th with a chance of a top 5 place now, having said that its in our own hands , we keep winning no one can stop us getting there
2 really key games coming up , Fulham away , who are due a loss, all teams lose and we are capable of doing it . weve had a nice rest
then its boro at home that could cement our position in the top 6

of course the last day v bristol city might be a dead rubber or all or nothing

but isnt it good to be so involved
after several seasons of dull bland play its heady stuff

Home- forest, middlesborough, Cardiff, Millwall, Preston, burton
Away- Fulham, Ipswich, Brentford, Barnsley, Birmingham, Bristol City

Lot of winnable games there. The Fulham and Bristol stand out as the toughest, while boro at home will also be very tough.

For us to have a chance of getting top 6 reckon we need to get around 21 points

About right and looking at the run in its doable .Could do with Wilson and Brooks adding some fireower soon .Wilson will come good he wouldn' have been at Utd that long without something in the locker . And yes I agree he hasn' shown it yet ..before everyone bangs on about him.
Consistency is the key to play offs , Hopefully we have had our blip .Derby seem to be in their blip ,Bristol aren't out of theirs yet despte today' win . Preston ..draw specialists , Boro could make it .
Personally Brentford seem decent so 3 pts off them will help us a ot. Leeds ..forget em

As entertaining as their pain is I think it is odds on we will both be in this division next season.

Sorry fella. But that always grinds my gears. Are you referring to Manchester United in your sentence I.e the team formerly known as Newton Heath? The club I always refer to as 'Utd' is the Sheffield version (the original and still the best).

Seven wins from twelve games , no one can say it's unrealistic. But to do it , we have to be at it full tilt EVERY game , no point looking at fixtures and thinking one is easier than the other ,- i guarantee you'll be surprised where at least one victory and one defeat comes.

Like Burton?
Maybe. The teams at the bottom are really as shit as each other. Sunderland and Brum look doomed barring a minor miracle!. It's then a toss up between the other 6 teams down there?. Ideal bottom 3 to go down would be the piggies, hull and the mackems!!.PLEASE!!. UTB

what price those 3 pints gifted away at Hull against a bang out of form, demorolised team where we simple failed to even show up....3 pts there and we would be looking really good

I just hope we don't lose out to Bristol City by 3 points or less, after Flecks stupid sending off.

You may have a point here, Wilders very public rant won't have gone unnoticed and neither will that defeat at Hull. We've had a shocking run of late, possibly Wednesday-esque as we have not managed to get a run of wins going. However, with attention back on the league and a few players coming back (Brooks, Ched, Freeman and Fleck) as well as the likes of Lee Evans becoming a settled feature in the side, Duffy and Billy picking form up again, we're perhaps in a very good position.

That game in hand puts us in a false position for now, a win on Saturday we'd be top 6 still.

All that said, the sides around us that we have to play will be fully aware of the threat we pose, Boro and Cardiff the only sides left which didn't really see us at our best.

If we can start to get a run of results together then we will give ourselves a chance, Fulham will be a very tough starter though....

Stop it, just stop it. We will be a bit part player maybe influencing the positions with the odd game like the final day fixture against brizzle.
We're not good enough and la Liga will consume our gutssie effort so far. I'm still not convinced pigs won't real us in and take that last play-off spot

And no matches on Sky till Cardiff. You can do things off the radar. Last time I looked at pub league table, Plymouth were bottom.

Why not be fairer to the Mancunian scumbags and give the,m their original full name, Newton Heath Lancashire and Yorkshire railway football club

I only see 5th & 6th realistically up for grabs, but is one of those top 4 were to hit a bad patch then who knows. I also can't see (sadly) Wednesday having a problem, those bottom 3 teams are atrocious, its a case of I can't see any of them hitting a good patch rather than Wednesday's shite form hurting them.

Our form over the last few months has been average rather than shocking.

Since the middle of December we have played 13 games and got 18 points. Mid table form, and far better than Wednesday have been doing. In their last 13 games they have got 10 points.

Our form isn't what it was for the first third of the season, but the only really bad run we've had was in the 5 games immediately after Burton between the middle of November and the middle of December, when we only took one point.

I didn't think it needed the further explanation, but yes, compared to the earlier part of the season our form has been shocking.

I don't see 18 points from 13 games as shocking, regardless of what we did in our first 17 games. It's bang average, worse than we had been doing previously, but IMHO nowhere near Wednesdayesque. It amounts to almost double their points tally over the same number of games.

Didn't think that needed further explanation either.

Perhaps medicrity is something you like to accept, however, if your form in the 1/3 of the season is automatic promotion form and then 2/3 form is midtable, that's a dramatic drop off.

I have read and reread both of my answers to your posts and can't see anywhere where I even remotely suggest that I accept mediocrity. That is a different discussion entirely.

What I have done is dare to disagree with you about whether or not our form of late has been shocking. You think it is. I don't think it is and have explained why I don't think it is.

For some reason you have taken exception to this.

I would say that the recent form of Leeds United, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday and Reading has been shocking. Ours has been no more nor less than average.

It's only an opinion based on how I see the facts, but I thought that the idea of a forum was that people could express different opinions and discuss them.
