Ok - don't claim to be ITK, but have heard several whispers that Roy Keane is on a short list, which has been whittled down to 2. I work in Ireland a lot and he has been talking to a number of media outlets about having a something lined up, to be anounced shortly. It could just be media speculation, but several people have told me that it is the blades. He has been talking about wanting to prove himself and develop a longer term project.

Probably speculation, and it doesn't meet all of McCabes criteria, but we know he likes a big name manager?

Not sure what I'd make of him being appointed. I'm not all that familiar with his playing style, however I like his tenacity and drive. His contacts could be useful also.

I can see him clearing the decks at lane but he might cause too much unrest behind the scenes.

In an ideal world Allardyce would be the man who should get the job but he is too expensive and too good for us.
