Difficult watch this. Hardly noticed Fleck, what is it about games after International Break ?

Mcgoldrick needs bollocking about playing to the whistle. He was onside ffs.

Going off him, he's way to casual. Should have smashed it in from 3 yards. Wilder needs to give him a rocket up his arse.

I'm happy enough with the rest of his game, but finishing is awful.

Don't think Clarke is the answer in this game because we're not getting it into areas where he can do damage
Fleck, Norwood, Freeman and Duffy despite scoring need to up their game

Plusses:
  • We’re winning
  • Duffy’s cool finish
  • Henderson, Egan, Stevens, Duffy, Sharp, McG (miss apart) are at least putting in something akin to their usual performances
Negatives:
  • Even when we’ve had time on the ball we haven’t used it well
  • We’ve gifted the ball away far too cheaply far too regularly – Fleck and Norwood have done so in dangerous areas too
  • Stevens aside, the delivery from the other 3 from wide positions has been mostly garbage

Rotherham have done their homework on us.
They've seen others close down the closest options to our player with the ball so even when they receive it, they don't have time to look up.
Only way round that is crisp one touch passing, which is hard to do consistently without a pass going astray and setting them up on a counter, which they seem to have the pace though currently, thankfully, not the quality to finish.
Can't see us keeping a clean sheet.
1-1 or 1-2 I reckon.

am i right in thinking much of his earlier career was as a cm/am? never thought of him as an out and out finisher or is it something else my head has made up

Quick, crisp passing is supposed to be our forte
It's unbelievable sloppiness, trying to steal something instead of winning it

We know how that usually ends for us

Long time since we were involved in a game like this but we are doing okay if not spectacular. The fact Rovrum are pushing us back will work in our favour second half as long as we continue to keep them out. I agree that Clarke for Goldy is a good shout, we need some physicality & Goldy looks a bit too languid for this type of game. Freeman also not playing well, would like to see George in the second half but not sure Chris will make two subs at half time even if he wanted to. Off on a bit of a tangent but Egan is reminding me more & more of John Mcphail, in a good way.

Wankers
A Sloppy, slow, and can't be fucking arsed performance
Not a single correct decision made all day
Even Duffys goal came as a result of him losing control of the fucking ball

Been dropping to them on the edge the whole game. 2-1 Rovrum.

I think we are doing what we did last year.

We got to the top then slid down the table.
Anything less than a win again Rotherham Is rubbish.

Promotion contenders?
Not unless there's a massive improvement in performance level and January recruitment. So so predictable yet so preventable.

Very sloppy performance.

Their goal was lucky but there’s no doubt they deserve to be at least level.

Rotherham play a bit like us under Warnock, high tempo percentage football where they knock it into the mixer and shoot as much as possible. They lack quality though looking more like a really good league 1 side.

Also for some reason our 2nd half displays always seem to be worse than the 1st half.
