Vibes of Tom Davies about this. Excellent when fit.

We don’t need more ‘when fit’ players in the squad.
Not really, pretty much polar opposite. Last 3 seasons hes registered 29 apps, 37 apps (both in premier league) & 28 apps in ligue 1. Not to mention 8 already this season.

Compared to T.Davies who's managed 16, 9, 20, 8 in last 4 (with 6 this season).

Quality player if fit.

IF fit. And there has to be a question mark there.

Also where does he slot in to our team? There's always the argument of that is a good problem to have of course.

We are a club that in recent history has been very strict on ensuring we have appropriate medical insurance for players, that covers a significant amount of their wages should injury occur. This demands a successful medical. However the insurance we choose is not a stringent for loans, and so neither is the medical requirement, especially 6 month loans. But we have been thorough historically and still put all loanees through a full medical, though the new owners may choose to take more of a risk.

It's also very possible that we build in financial liability on the specific knee injury recurrence to the parent club, to cover an agreed increased amount of the wages

A gossip journalist reporting that we have enquired suggests it nothing more than the type of player we are looking for rather than a deal is imminent
I mean technically we can enquire about Mbappe, doesn’t mean they wont be telling us to get fucked

Absolutely fine if you look at the number of times he’s been on the pitch. Unfortunately, this season he’s made 7 premier league ‘appearances’ and the longest time he spent on the pitch was 31 minutes. Including the amount of time he’s played in the Europa league this season, he’s managed the total of 153 minutes of football since last May.

Tom Davies has managed 196 minutes in the same period.

24 / 25 season, although Barkley got onto the pitch much more, he racked up only 2 & a bit more full games of football than Davies did.

Barkley - 30 appearances, 896 minutes.
Davies - 16 appearances, 703 minutes.

23 / 24 season saw a big difference… but this is over 2 years ago now.

Barkley - 37 appearances, 3001 minutes.
Davies - 9 appearances, 214 minutes.

Not exactly polar opposites when you look at their actual game time since 2024. As I mentioned, Barkley is excellent when available…. But we really shouldn’t be looking for players that have this caveat IMO.

If he’s out while February what’s the point? We need loans who will improve the squad right now.

Do we? We've got the highest points total in the league over the last 10 games, very few injuries and multiple players for every position now Hoever has covered RB.

If anything, we are in a position to gamble on a player who would improve us massively, but others won't take the risk on because of their fitness.

As an aside, there's absolutely no way Barkley drops into the Championship this season, especially not to us.

If either Barkley or Davies can play each week in a shared role that would do for me. Both classy players and might just be able to hold down a position betwen them.

Is he likely to be signed 12pm tomorrow - I’m sure wilder gave the board the hurry up in the post match on Sunday … I may have misheard what was said like

If we're signing a CM, that says to me that Wilder expects one of Peck/Blaster to be unavailable longer term, for whatever reason.

Riedewald
Barkley
Arblaster
Peck
Davies

...is too many high-quality ready-starters IMO when we have needs elsewhere. So, hence my first point

well we know arblaster has been brought back too early were in a stick or twist situation this month do we go for it or do we leave it while summer to bring quality additions in the next 2 weeks will tell us

The Ebbrell Tax s high for Unied permanent signings

Many posters said the same about Bamford and Riedewald. Think he’d be a great signing for us on loan, adding quality and depth at deep lying midfield.
If you could guarantee he was fit and interested, he immediately becomes our best player.

No idea on either unfortunately

He was the reason Luton got to where they were, soon as he left-kaput ! He was the best player in the championship bar non. Lovely footballer.
He's hardly kicked a ball for ages. Funny that he was only fit for Luton's season in the premier league, on low wages, now once he got his big wages at Villa, injured again
