CONFIRMED Romelle Donovan joins on Season Long Loan

You know I’m not sure I’ve managed to see Chong play for us live yet. Always seems to be injured when I get round to going. Last time he didn’t get beyond the pre game warm up. What’s he done now?

Think Wilder said before the game, him and One were the 2 missing out through injury.

Chong started against Mansfield, came off after 29 minutes.

I didn't realise but he then came on as a sub against Birmingham though. He wasn't in the squad for Swansea game.

Probably one of the most energetic and impactful initial performances we've seen since MGW for a loan player?

If he can pull that off in our league games we might actually have a chance this year.

Not sure about that but hopefully he'll add some much needed attacking excitement to our team.

We've had our fair share of tricky, pacey wingers on loan over the years but I don't think I've seen any of them combine these raw talents with an ability and drive to put themselves about as much as Donovan did tonight.

We're in for a real treat this year if he keeps performing like that.

Thought he was going to be too raw to be a consistent starter but if he’s gonna work like a dog for 90 minutes and put himself about like that then he’s going to be a key player. The ability is clearly there. Brentford’s ability to identify players is exceptional.

Yes going to be raw and slightly hit and miss. He's younger than when Ndiaye broke into our side. I saw him a year ago for Brentford u21s and he didn't get on my radar that day...mind you I was too busy in awe of seeing the AI lads in the flesh

For all the Wilder critics I just want to point out that he's not old, an ex player or someone we've been chasing for years. Nobody on here, me included, had heard of him and he's looking a real prospect. Well done to Wilder etc. Shame he's not our player mind.

I love this kid. He's humble and articulate but his confidence and enthusiasm really shines through. He talks like he's enjoying the ride but gives the impression that he believes he can make it to the very very top.
Experience is brilliant, but I love some nieve enthusiasm. I was going to put my favourite quote from him in here but he went on to say too many.. I will put two though.
"I went into the game with the attitude, Im going to score"
And
"With the ball at my feet, its my time to shine"

Even just for the last 20min of games.
I think he will have given the board 5 or 6 names, but championship experience probably costs more than 20 year old academy players (for a loan). So it might even been cheaper to get a second Donovan type as well.
Its done now I guess try and stick to the positives, we've got this Donovan.
