Has anyone got any idea what he was trying to do? When I first saw it I assumed that it was one of those unlucky ones where a scrum of players goes up and the defender sees it at the last minute and the ball glances of the side of his head. However, on the replay, he seemed to flick it towards his own goal. Was he trying to put it over the bar, or head it back to the keeper. It was a hell of an effort to score from there.

Can any one remember a game where we have struggled so much with a simple throw lobbed into the box. There were two goals, two disallowed goals and at least three other missed chances. I get that the goalkeeper was piss weak but was our set up wrong or did we just have too few decent headers of the ball. I've only seen one case where there was a definite foul (the Verrips save). The rest seemed to be a case of "Allardyce" style jumping into the player instead of trying to head the ball. Obviously I can see that leaving Robinson unmarked a yard out was not a great move, but how can we be so shit at such pub style tactics, so much so that Furlong got MoM for simply throwing the ball into the area.

Absolute baptism of fire for Verrips to be fair - against a really physical side, who's tactic is to crowd the keeper and pie throw-ins into the box.

Never rated Robinson, especially at the £4m we paid for him (i think)

Sadly yes. Against the pigs at BDTBL when we drew 2-2 with that lot scoring 2 goals from long throws.

Verrips gad zero spatial awareness and was glued to his line. Plus he can't catch, punch or parry....which is OK for everyone except the keeper. He is dross.

Wasn't 4m. It was reported as 1m but Wilder then said it was less than that.

Well fingers crossed Davies is fit enough to start on Saturday, and that RND gets up to speed quick then hopefully we will never have to see the useless lump of lard in a Blades shirt again.

We definitely didn’t pay £4m for Jack fucking Robinson

Every now and then, someone buys a lower league player for cheap, puts them in the Premier League and they look like an absolute gem. Ian Wright. Jamie Vardy. Brian Deane.

And then sometimes, someone buys a lower league player for cheap, puts them in the Premier League and they look like... a lower league player who was cheap.

Correct me if I am wrong but even at corners we didn't have anyone on the front post,,,why not defend a long throw like a corner, with someone stood by the post on the line, instead of everyone competing in what looks like a cross between a scrum and lineout

Every time that long throw came in we looked like conceding & I didn’t notice us trying anything different to combat it all game. It might have been worth standing Berge in front of Furlong to at least try & put his aim off a bit cos it’s pointless having him in the box to defend it cos I’ve never seen him head the ball.

Robinson is a centre half and is over 6', the long throws and corners should be meat and drink to him, he turned his face away from the ball and it hit him around the side/back of the head, it was the sort of header I would expect from a 5'6" midfielder like Duffy, no commitment to deal with the job of sticking your head in, absolutely rubbish defending.

Robinson is a full back. Out of a total of 170 games before he came to SUFC he only spent a few months as a centre back at QPR under Holloway. He was supposed to be playing full back last night in a back four.

Even at 5 foot 11 inches in height he is poor in the air and they targeted him all match. Furlong is the same height but he consistently beat Robinson to the ball. He is an accident waiting to happen and last nights own goal confirmed what he was before he came to us. A lower end championship squad filler.

Why the previous management believed he was equipped to play centre back is a complete mystery. He no aerial prowess is uncomfortable with the ball at his feet always looking to pass back rather than forward and drifts across the line when defending losing his man. He has a good cross on him and can put in a good tackle but he is not what we need now.

RND has to start along with Davies this week end.

Utter rubbish.....how does a forest reserve languishing at the lower end of the Championship sign (for money & big wages) for a team supposedly on the up at the time....ludicrous....he's up there with Chris' worst signings

That little jinking run through the Everton defense to set up Jebbo’s goal was good though.
Maybe we should play him up front….couldn’t do any worse
