Ok so he isn't JOC but let's be fair on the guy, he has been pretty damn good for coming into this system at short notice, he seems to me to be growing into the role.

I remember saying after his first game that I wanted to see him get forwards more and he has done so as each game has gone. The injury to JOC has at the least shown us that we have cover at the back going forwards and we can rely on Robinson to help us give players like JOC a rest.

The trouble is most of the recent goals conceded have come down his side of defence, I notice when Norwood didn't track the runner Robinson was rooted to the spot , Hendo had to try and close the shooting angle.

Done ok so far and deserves time but still feel the attacking threat down the left has diminished.

It's not something I want to see us rely on but his throw is a useful tool too.

Yeah it definitely disjointed the team, but after today it is showing that we can definitely play the same way, we just need to be more confident and fearless.

We have become very one dimensional trying to always get down the wings and fucking around, not getting space to shoot or put in early crosses and mixing it up but we are definitely getting there.

And as you lot say, that throw 🤤

He was much better at getting forward today, and that ball into Bash was outstanding, and as you say the long throw is great. It reminds me of when Norwood came and we could suddenly do something with corners. Completely new method of attack.

Defensively he seems steady, he doesn't shit me up, I have some faith building but it's hard to get a proper idea of him with Enda struggling.

Yeah but I don't think all the goals are directly his fault, I mean it's always going to be tough for him but I'd say Enda has been at fault more than him.

As Wilder says just a couple of guys not up to full scratch yet.

Given our wage budget, and the fact JOC has that position sewn up, he’s probably the best back-up for that position that we could hope for. He’s acquitted himself well. He’s actually a much better passer of the ball than I expected and that long throw-in is a weapon and a bit of a game changer for us when he’s on. Still room for improvement elsewhere and he is showing signs of getting better - like today getting forward - but I’ve been pleasantly surprised.

He's a solid player for where we're at. Cost £500k & covers two positions. Brings something different with the long throw & seems to understand our system pretty well. A good signing for me.

We could do with someone similar next season for the right hand side. Will need cover for Egan too.

Harsh for anyone to put any blame on him for the second goal.
He was already dealing with what I think was Pepe.

Perhaps if Norwood had followed Ceballos, or made Robinson more aware he was coming, instead of shouting at something in the middle, it could have prevented the goal.

Lets hope that injury to Jack isn’t going to keep him out for the rest of the season

Agree with this, Henderson & Norwood at fault for me.

I've been impressed with Robinson, certainly more than I expected. I always thought he was a LB. He's done well.
I do wonder as we are playing a player who has played LB for a large portion of his career if we could have given Ben Osborn more opportunities?
He's look good every time I've seen him.
Perhaps Enda at CB and Osborn at LWB, we've seen Enda play very well in that position before and I feel Osborn deserves his chance.
There's not much left to play for now that we are out of the cup, the current setup isn't working, so it could well be 'tinker time'. Let's see some more of the fringe players before they get disenchanted and leave.

I personally think keeping Robinson there to keep progressing and putting Osborn in for Stevens would be the better move.

Like you say, you know Stevens can do both if required anyway.

Europa league place is something to play for. Even if we turn up and toss it off next season, it's a welcome financial boost and great for the club.

The long throw is very effective, need to get someone doing the same from the right.

The prince did an interview in arabic where he said he doesnt want europa said financially it doesnt pay off.

I get what he is saying, but then fuck that shit for what it is worth 😂 Europe has to be the goal, I'd happily sack the league and FA Cup to concentrate on Europe and the league.

We have to be realistic and compete where we can, of course we want to win every game but we can't compete on 4 fronts, we can on 2.

Yeah I've just had a look, €3m Euros for getting to the group stage, and about half a mill per win. It's not to be sniffed at, but it's not something that would make a huge difference, it'd pay a couple of the player's wages for a year maybe.

Prince might be a bit biased towards his wallet in not wanting it though, he'll have to find the transfer budget. From a club standpoint, to have competed in Europe would be great though.
