Russell Slade for me looking at what he has done for Orient this year and he knows League one and he knows United's set up plus i have a £5 on him at 12/1 LOL
Slade's managerial record with us is P5 W0 D2 L3 and that's when we had good players!
I'm not sure why having knowledge of United from circa 1990 is any sort of an advantage either.
Why are we about the only club in the country who always seek to appoint someone with previous links with the club?
7 out of the last 9 permanent managers have been former players, coaches or just supporters. Why?
Both Tisdale at Exeter and Hill at Rochdale have very similar records to Slade this season.
But to reach that point, they've dragged their teams up from up Non-League and Div 4 relegation trouble respectively.
They've both improved their teams every year on meagre resources and unlike Slade (Notts County, Brighton) have never yet been a failure.
Personally, I'd be disgusted if Slade or Wilder got approached for the job ahead of either Tisdale or Hill.
Let's spread the net a little wider than our own backyard for once!
