Roberto Di Matteo is going to hold talks with Sheff UTD and then Danny Wilson, I would pick Roberto Di Matteo who did well at west brom and the guy got good contacts in football.

Danny Wilson isn't bad but he good for teams in League two but i may be harsh to say this.

Thanks in advance love x

not wilson with his s6 conections
Di Matteo would be ok but if he did a good job a bigger club would come in for him.

Russell Slade for me looking at what he has done for Orient this year and he knows League one and he knows United's set up plus i have a £5 on him at 12/1 LOL

I want someone with NO SUFC connection please.

Why is Di Matteo going to hold talks with Danny Wilson?

Wilson is in the Gary Megson school of ex-Pigs i.e. he despises us. Seems unlikely to me.

Slade's managerial record with us is P5 W0 D2 L3 and that's when we had good players!
I'm not sure why having knowledge of United from circa 1990 is any sort of an advantage either.
Why are we about the only club in the country who always seek to appoint someone with previous links with the club?
7 out of the last 9 permanent managers have been former players, coaches or just supporters. Why?

Both Tisdale at Exeter and Hill at Rochdale have very similar records to Slade this season.
But to reach that point, they've dragged their teams up from up Non-League and Div 4 relegation trouble respectively.
They've both improved their teams every year on meagre resources and unlike Slade (Notts County, Brighton) have never yet been a failure.

Personally, I'd be disgusted if Slade or Wilder got approached for the job ahead of either Tisdale or Hill.
Let's spread the net a little wider than our own backyard for once!

Russell Slade has come a long way since those days, however, no, he's not my choice.

If there's any truth in the Di Matteo rumours then it's got to be worth a punt at 25/1 with Victor Chandler.

I hope for Matteo if we are looking at some sort of quality and someone who also has contacts in the game.

Although I have pound on the tea lady to take over.

Not sure Di Matteo would touch it with yours.

Pure fantasy that one, I believe. Besides, he would be off to a big club as soon as his stock had risen an inch.
Notice I stated "off to a big club"?

He has cut his teeth on MKD and WBA and would most likely be looking for a greater challenge (not a hopeless mission).

This time last year he'd called McCabe about the blades vacancy, this weekend he won the champions league as caretaker.

It's funny how things pan out. If we'd taken him on, I'm sure he'd not have been called into AVB's back room staff.

Seems like McCabe did him a favour

I was saying as much on facebook a couple of weeks ago. Pure bonkers when you think how things work out...

Yeah and oddly I'm not disappointed that we didn't get him, just could've worked out different for him and us.

Just dawned on me that it was almost exactly a year ago.

Well I was wrong about the tea lady getting the job.

yeah and i bet he isn't either!! :D

He's not going to be on mega money, but probably got a decent bonus, but if he doesn't get the job fulltime then he's unemployed soon.

I'm sure he'd rather have 3rd place Div 3 on his CV than 6th in the PL (and FA Cup winner and CL Winner)

:)
