I liked him as a defender, was pleased to see him settling into LCB.thus season. But along with Baldocks on the other side always thought he was a liability going forward. But his crossing this season has gone into another level, looking a complete all round player

Where are those people who backed stevens over RND and said he should be nowhere near the starting 11

He’s the type of player we need to be producing if we are to build from within with the academy yes the real top players are great but they’re the cherry on top if you like as they’re unlikely to stay for more than 2/3 years whereas RND could play here for a decade.

This lad has really upped his game-

Foraging forward= better
Crossing= better
Closing down= gone from good to immense

For me he was MOM last night by quite some way- it was a captains performance- lead by example.

I said that because at the time he looked like a player who was shit scared to cross half way

Maybe this is the RND that Luton & Stoke fans saw

The improvement he has made since this time last season is staggering, long may it continue because he's one of the first names on the team sheet now - whether it be centre back or wing back he has to start.

He's turning in to a great payer for us. I thought he was bang average, and at an age where he was unlikely to get much better (I've probably said that in this thread). I'm happy to be wrong again. :)

Hes 23...

For context illiman is getting better and better and only a year younger.

How is it possible a 23 year old.cant improve?

Well yes, agreed. I'm just talking about the levels. Illiman looked great from the moment we saw him. RND just looked further behind, and given that he was approaching prime age (24-25), he didn't look like a potential top end championship / premier league player in the making. I was happily wrong (I think most were) and he does now.

It's also possible that it's better coaching. There seems to be much more intent and aggression in his attacking play. :)
