RND NGE

Yes he was as hard as nails in the tackle but can tall fullbacks really cut the grade was my concern (Stuart Pearce vs the great Ashley Cole)
Enda has been our LWB for 5 seasons and is listed as 2cm taller. England's Luke Shaw is 4cm taller.

For me it's time to get rid of Enda. He's part of the old guard. He had his good and great moments but over the last two and a half seasons these have been a rarity and he has been consistently below average at best. The future is RND and Lowe as competition if he wants to stay. RND was superb last night.

Good lad today. Going from RND NGE to RND BAF (brave as f***).

Has balls, tries to get forward and is starting to offer more in the final third. Still lots to work on but he’s a guy you want in the trenches. If only others in the team would match his and Ndiaye’s commitment we’d be higher up.

I'm sorry, he offers nothing in the final third.... And not much in the first or second thirds either. I'll give him a pass today since he played out of position.... But he was sloppy, got caught napping a couple times. We need better imo. Bench player at best imo (hopefully not our bench either).

Wowsers, as a big critic of RND I’ve got to take issue with your comments.

He had a great spell just before half-time when he twice drove at defenders and got into the box, the second run could have earned us a penalty on another day thanks to his sheer determination to attack the space.

In the second half, he picked out Brewster with a floated cross whose header produced a great save.

I’m all for bashing when it’s merited, but clearly RND’s improving so it’s fair to acknowledge it. Oh, and today he was playing LCB so his attacking exploits were even more welcome.

If he passed the salt it would be to the wrong person he was ok at best today playing out of posit

We do have a LWB problem and assuming Clarke is fit and Robinson back for the autumn we should be ok LCB
But Davis is an accident waiting to happen can’t cross can’t pass and won’t take a man on
Better in a flat 4 not a wing back

Great? I don't see anything he does as great. I just don't see a starter. I am overly critical, but i want more - i'm greedy like that ;) I blame Bogle for this. Bogle gives everything we need in that wingback position.

Keinan Davis?

Must admit to being a bit shocked by the criticism of his performance – thought he was one of the better ones. Was important to building attacks as he always made himself available, got forward well, defended well, took one to the head. He had one bad moment where for whatever reason he failed to realise Jones was by him which led to his booking. But other than that thought he did well. It was notable that both Duffy and O’Connell, who has some idea of what a good performance in that position looks like, singled him out for praise. So at least 4 of us saw that as a decent showing.

He got, what was a stonewall penalty for us, if it wasn’t for the abysmal refereeing. Not bad from left centre back.

He was poor first half and the ridiculous lazy booking said it all. Not helped by a terrible performance from Lowe who seemed to spend half his time in midfield.

Much better second half, got stuck in and broke up play. Also put some good balls forward in. An took on the fullback a couple of times.

I'm not convinced by him as a LWB. Doesn't consistently offer enough going forward.

We/He have to make a decision about his best position.

Exactly this, RND was doing g the job of two players most of the game....much like Ndaiye who did his own and all of Sharps running up top....add in an appearance from Jimmy Fleck and it was like playing with 8 men most of the game.
Lowe was much better second half and it can be no coincidence that so was RND. I had no idea what they were doing first half. RND was playing LWB half the time and Lowe was i the middle. I was under the impression that Lowe's biggest asset was pushing to the byline and nowhere to be seen.

Agree , I can’t fault his effort , commitment & tenacity.. but he lacks pace & positional sense for a full back / wing back , he’ll always be a committed trier but lacks quality

Has outstanding defensive attributes and is improving his final ball. Should be a definite starter at LWB when he can be moved out there. Got zero protection from Fleck and Lowe today when out of position, against one of the best players in the league, and still gave a good account of himself. Well played lad.

Both Lowe and RND ARE squad players.

Both started dreadfully. But both finished very strong. RND is being asked to do a job at LCH - not his position.

Way stronger with Clark there but what can we do exactly? Lowe playing LWB because Enda out/RND covering LCH.

RELAX BROTHERS.

Put his head in bravely twice yesterday, one certainly saved a goal. He lacks a little in attacking situations but he's solid defensively.

Not sure i can remember any LCB putting in a better performance for us whilst playing alongside Max Lowe as the LWB.

Whoever plays the LCB role whilst Lowe is in the team is on a hiding to nothing. His complete lack of any positional awareness is unbelievable. He makes Marvin Johnson look like prime Ashley Cole!

Thought he was excellent tonight.
The Thread Starter has moved on to a new scapegoat.
