Former United centre-forward Mick Hill has passed away, aged 60.
The Hereford born man joined United in 1965 from Bethesda Athletic and moved on to Ipswich Town five years later, and during his time at Portman Road he won two full Welsh International caps, qualifying through his father's parentage.

He netted his first goal for the Blades in a 2-2 draw at Leicester in April1967, and followed that with another in his first Sheffield derby four days later.

Hill went on to make a total of 35 league starts for United (nine goals) and in all scored 33 times in a career total of 148 games.

Two goals stand out one against weeds (match winner) just after they stole Mick Jones from us, the other against the pigs at pigsborough.

RIP Mick Hill

To say he was a bit before my time is an understatement, but it's always sad to lose a Blade, especially one so relatively young.

Anyone who scores against the piggies deserves to be missed.

R.I.P

as linz says always good if they score against the pigs and past leeds too.

remember that day when we beat that shite(leeds)!we were all singing "you've bought the wrong one!" also used to watch mick hill playin cricket in parson cross park.how did he die? thoughts go out to his family.rip
