He was a hero of mine. I used to meet him after the home games during the 1970-71 season and got in touch with him when he left for Newcastle. He was the landlord at Rock Tavern in Dronfield for a few months during the 1992-93 winter before he and his family moved to the USA.
He was a brilliant goal scorer.

Best header of a ball I have seen at the lane and he wasn't that tall.
I knew him from the rock

Scored against Bristol City (3-3) during my first ever Blades match jn Sept 1970 - start of the best footballing years of my life - thanks for the memories

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
yeah 3 - 0 down coming back to 3 - 3 started our promotion run off great centre forward and will never be forgotten by older blades for that winner through grummitts legs at the lane end 3rd october 1970 r.i.p. king tudor 😪⚔️

Like so many of us on here, I’ll remember him very fondly as one of my early heroes in a Blades shirt.
My first game as a young Blade was the victory over W*******y where he scored the winning goal. Great days.
I don’t know the circumstances why we sold him…but I was devastated. We should have kept him imho.
RIP John Tudor

Very sad, I remember him very fondly & he was terrific for us. Gutted when he was sold but I think it was a p/x deal with John going to Newcastle & John Hope & David Ford coming to us. I admit to not liking Ford because of his connection to the other lot, but I say now that although John Hope was called Hopeless he was as instrumental at getting promotion as anyone before injury badly dented his confidence & mobility.

Thanks for the memories King John, RIP Blade.

Became a big favourite...great header of the ball and hold up play, aswell as linking thiings up and scoring goals....the winner v Wendy was a great moment after we'd been deservedly 2 up and then pegged back to2-2.
Rip King Tudor.

RIP King Tudor. Always remembered for the winning goal against the Pigs coming on as sub. Along with Mick Jones best header of a ball at CF I've seen in a red and white shirt. Like many I was gutted when he left for the barcodes but John Harris preferred the pace of Billy Dearden up front. As it turned out Hope and to a lesser extent Ford got us over the line that season but it also enabled us to bring in Trevor Hockey to form the original holy trinity of Hockey, Salmons and Currie.
