Spoke to a York City fan a couple of years ago and he thought very highly of him. He told me that he was still regularly attending events organised by supporters and was a really decent bloke.
I saw his only league match for us, a clean sheet in a 1-0 win v Norwich City and although not under pressure much, dealt competently with everything.
A capable deputy but always in the shadow of the great Alan Hodgkinson.

Ah - sad news. Used to go to reserve games in the Central League and watched him a lot. Used to enjoy those games and remember him well
